The Battle for Utopia

Chapter 1: The announcement

  It itches so bad, can't reach! OWWW! Aw! Ow! Oh excuse me, where are my manners?! Hello, my name is Serenity, and if your wondering why I am in agony right now, it's because my wings are malting, that's right malting! I mean, who has ever heard of bat wings malting is what I would like to know!..Okay, maybe it's perfectly normal, but it's still terrible! Oh, and if your wondering why I have wings, well, pink bat wings to be exact, it's because on the planet of Utopia everyone has a animal part, it all depends on the animal we connect with most. For me it is the bat. I love my wings and I hate them. I love them because I love soaring high above everyone, and I love the freedom they give, but right now I hate them because the skin is flaking off them (it happens periodically through out the year, not often, but when it does happen, it's agony! Wait, is Mrs. Burke looking at me? OMG, she is, but why is everyone else.. "Serenity" Mrs. Burke asked, "can you work the problems?" I glanced at the problems on the board. They were a piece of cake! "Yes ma'am, I can." Mrs. Burke smiled kindly and asked, "Then will you come up to the board and work them please?" I blushed embarrassed and said" Yes ma'am". I got up and walked to the board, and as I did, another piece of skin started flaking off my wing. I picked up the dry erase marker and started trying to work the problems, without focusing on the skin on my wing, that itched badly. Mrs.Burke graciously peeled off the piece of skin. The ecstasy of her touching my skin, and the sting of my skin leaving my wing, melted together into a heavenly numbness. After I finished working the problems a few minutes later, Mrs. Burke said I could sit down. "Class" Mrs.Burke said "I have a announcement to make.." to be continued...
