"Chou.." he cried as she cradled him in her arms. The two of them sat there, hugging. She comforted him, patted him, and rocked back-and-forth.
"Shh.." she hushed him, hugging him tighter, "It was only a nightmare, Satoshi.."
"But Mother..!!! Mother!! Sh-She-"
"Mother is in a better place now, Satoshi. And you know that."
"Chou... I-I.." he pulled away, wiping his tears. This wasn't the first, nor the last time his sister would help him through his struggles. "I'm sorry for being such a baby.."
"It's alright.. You're not being a baby!" she gave a kind smile as she gazed into his eyes, with a radiating warmth. "You have alot of things to worry about, so you crying isn't you being a baby. I'm happy to be able to help you like this. I love being here for you!"
He softly smiled, "Th-Thanks..."
She watched as he wiped away his tears once more and she smiled again, "Can you sleep better now? You need to be well rested."
"Why..?" he asks, oblivious. After his nightmare, he'd completely forgotten that the first day of school was tomorrow.
Playfully, Chou rolled her eyes. "School's tomorrow, silly!"
He chuckled, slightly blushing. "O-Oh yeah, I forgot.. Well thanks for helping me again.. Love ya sis, and see you tomorrow.."
Smiling, she walked out of his room, shutting the door behind herself, "Alright, goodnight Satoshi!"
He crawled back into his bed and he tucked himself in the covers, sighing. "Another year of hell starts tomorrow.."
Yawning, Satoshi rolled over, pulling the covers over his head as if he were hiding. He closed his eyes and cleared his thoughts, soon falling asleep.
(Day 1)
Satoshi stumbled off of the steps off the bus, barely catching his items before they dropped onto he ground. He was glad to be out of that bus. It stunk in there, it was too crowded and worst of all, people were gossiping about him once again. Satoshi was given the name 'Scar' by his peers, and it wasn't a very pleasant name either, considering what hell he'd gone through to get he scar that was now on his blue eye.
He made his way over to the bench near the school entrance, in the courtyard, and took a seat. Satoshi whipped out his phone and began to play games on it while listening to music.
"Hisssss..."
A noise, seemingly a snake, sounded. Pausing his game, Satoshi looked around the area. Unable to find the source of the noise, Satoshi shrugged it off and continued to play his game.
There it was.
A snake had coiled itself around Satoshi's leg. "Hisss.." it hissed once more.
Satoshi stared at it, extremely frightened. "Wh-What the hell..??"
The snake began to slither up his leg and onto his lap, hissing again. He gave a nervous smile at it, unsure of what to do.
"Chchchchchch..." A boy made clicking noises in the distance. "Where'd Ann run off to?" he thought to himself, confused. She usually responded to his calls right away, but not this time.
"Hiss!" the snake hissed, responding to him. He remained on Satoshi's lap though.
"Oh, there you are!" the tall, blonde boy made his way over to Satoshi. "There's my little Ann.."
"Uhm.." Satoshi wanted the snake off quick.
"I wonder why she didn't respond immediately, or come to me.." he mumbled aloud, then looked up at Satoshi. "Ya know, Ann usually never warms up to strangers like this.."
Satoshi waited, growing impatient, "U-Uh, wh-what are you doing..?"
"Maybe he smells nice to her.." he mumbled, ignoring Satoshi. Because he was curious, he leaned in closer and took a whiff of the air surrounding Satoshi. He nodded to himself, "Definitely smells nice.."
"Why are you s-sniffing me..?" Satoshi asks, extremely confused and nervous.
"O-Oh, I'm sorry!" the boy apologized, "See, my snake, Ann, usually never warms up to strangers, so I was curious......U-Uhm, my name's Aron.. I-I apologize if I made you feel a bit.. Uncomfortable." he held out his hand, smiling at Satoshi.
Satoshi stared at his hand for a minute before hesitantly grabbing onto it and shaking it. He gave a faux smile., "M-My name's S-Satoshi.."
"What the hell?" Aron thought to himself, surprised, "Why am I acting like this.. This isn't like me.."
Aron's face twitched from a smile to a dangerous look, visibly, for a split second. He jerked his hand away, his heart thumping inside of his chest.
Satoshi looked a bit surprised for a minute, then he put his hand down, "A-Are you alright..?"
Aron gave a timid smile, "Y-Yeah.. Great!"
"You sure..?"
"Mhmm.. I, uh.. I gotta go!! See you later!!" Ann slithered into his sleeve, and Aron rushed off into he restroom inside the school building. His heart was racing, and he was out of breath. "God.. What was that?? My heart, he.."
Ann hissed, wrapping herself around his neck from the collar of his shirt, feeling Aron's panic, though it did not help how out-of-breath he already was.
Aron petted her scales, calming her. He fixed his collar and splashed water on his face, "I.. I have to be careful of that boy.."
With that, Aron walked out of the bathroom, careful to avoid Satoshi. He couldn't quite grasp what feelings he had experienced, but he hadn't seemed to like it.
