                      My mum wouldn't let go off String. She marvelled at the sight of another robot in the house and truth be told, String was actually kinda scared. String managed to escape my mum's grip and fell to the floor. He got up and faced me and asked me what it could do. With a sly smile, I knew what had to be done.

                     Floors wet, bathrooms scrubbed and clothes folded. Me and Mums sat down as we gazed at the speed at which String pursued a task; so fast if mum didn't have her reading glasses on, she might've lost track of him. After a while, He turned off and reverted to stasis mode where he would charge. My mum face lit up like a candle in a cavern, she grabbed me and bear hugged me as tight as she could. I was immensely proud of my handicraft

                     Later at night, String turned on and I casually asked if he wanted to play a game, to which he obliged. For 4 straight hours we ended up playing games such as  checkers, chess, tic-tac-toe and ended with a 10-win streak between me and String  in  game of Old Maid, in favour of String winning all. I flipped the game table and sat in a corner to wallow in my own defeat. Although i was kinda sad over the loss, I couldn't help myself but watch at the wonder that String possessed. For the first time, I smiled at our family's despairing condition.

                     The next morning, I went out to work in the Junior Services Dept. When I got there, I was greeted by some workers who yelled out to me " CALEBB" , "Hey you lil bugger :3". Courteously, I smiled and brushed past them to the scrap heap. I realized that when String  activates he burns through a lot of fuel and his parts get damaged and worn out fast so I thought I could snag some spare parts and some fuel. Normally, I'd just ask  for some of my Dept. friends to help but they'd look at me like im some crazy kid when they hear that my robot became sentient.

                      During the day, I shimmied around the Dept. and the streets of Bellenau looking for decent power supplies and state-of-the-art parts. Many don't know this but between my  jobs and school, I'd create craft items using machine parts and cheap school utensils and sell them in the markets and occasionally door-to-door and with the money, I was able to afford the necessary machinery and equipment need to upgrade String.
