Emma opened the Diner door and ran to the counter as fast as she could. Her teeth beamed as she slammed a piece of paper on the counter in front of Killian. "IT CAME!!" she screamed. She glanced around at all the people staring at her in the restaurant and giggled. "Sorry" she covered her mouth and looked back to her friend who just watched her admiringly.
Killian chuckled as he picked up the piece of paper. "What is this again?" he studied the paper. She rolled her eyes and took it from him.
"That's not cute." she pouted at him teasing.
"Awww.. I'm sorry." he set down the rag he was using to wash the counter-top laying his elbows on it and placing his head in his hands. "is it really their address?" he asked with slight excitement in his voice, but also worry.
She nodded frantically walking around to behind the counter to where he was. "I finally found them. I found my parents" she folded the piece of paper with her parents address on it and placed it in her pocket before wrapping her arms around Killian's neck squeezing him tightly. He buried his face in the pile of her hair that fell onto her shoulder. Their hugs never lasted more than thirdy seconds but neither of them seemed to be able to break away from each other.
A few minutes after getting lost in each others arms a costumer came up to the counter breaking them their hug. They both looked at one another and then to the older woman.
"What can I help you with?" they said simultaneously.
The woman grinned. "You guys are such a cute couple."
Killian and Emma looked right up at each other and laughed. "Oh we're not." she pointed at Killian and herself using hand motions to emphasize they were not dating.
Killian stood up straight and shook his head. "Ugh ew no, can you imagine?" he continued to shake his head.
"Ew?" Emma felt offended and her smile slowly dissipated.
"Not ew as in ew." he made facial expressions that just made it worse. "I just mean as in us dating.."
Emma rolled her eyes at him and pushed him playfully. "Just go get the woman some change would you?" she handed him the old woman's receipt and a twenty dollar bill.
The woman reached her hand out and grabbed Emma's "Oh no sweetie. Keep the change" she patted her arm.
Emma smiled. "Thank you."
The woman started walking away but then stopped herself. "I once had a friend like that." she said pointing to Killian who was at the cash register at the other side of the counter.
"Like what?" Emma looked at Killian and back to the woman and chuckled.
The woman smirked. "I can see how much you care for each other." she began.
"That's very sweet of you... but you don't know me... or him." Emma interrupted.
"Maybe... but it doesn't take a genius to see the love between the two of you." before Emma could come up with another excuse as to why they were not couple material. The woman walked out the front door causing the bell to jingle and vanished.
Killian walked up behind Emma causing her to jump. She grabbed her chest and looked to him. "But she forgot her change." Emma stepped away slightly. She never really thought of Killian in that way. In the way the woman was implying. Sure his eyes sparkled like the stars in the sky, and his voice was like pure gold in her ears. And the way his lips laid perfectly on his face, and were pink and plump. There was that one time they did that one thing they swore to not talk about again... "Emma?!" Killian grabbed her shoulders and shook her lightly.
"Yeah?" she shook her head coming back to reality, he smiled. That fucking beautiful smile that always made her lose it. That smile that gave her hope when she was a little girl that there was beauty in the world.
"You okay?" he grabbed her hand gently with his own and she quickly jumped back pulling away.
"Yeah I'm fine." she took a deep breath. "I just need some air." she walked quietly past the tables of the Diner and outside. It was freezing and she left her jacket home. She always did that and then Killian would be her hero and give him hers. By now she thought to herself she probably has enough of his jackets to clothe an army. She never gives them back. He saw her outside and yet again came to her rescue.
He grabbed his jacket and stepped out into the cold with her. "I thought you could use this." he smiled handing his leather jacket to her. She did not take it, Instead she stared at him annoyed. He chuckled shaking his head. "What? What I do? I'm just trying to be a gentleman."
Emma nodded. "Exactly. Stop... being... my hero." she shivered.
He stepped toward her and wrapped his jacket around her. "If I remember correctly. You're the one who saved me. The first day we met and every day since." he rubbed his hands against her trying to warm her up faster.
She rolled her eyes. "Seriously... Killian stop."
He looked deep into her opal eyes, his blue ones had made their self at home in them. "I love you Emma Swan." his eyes trailed down to her lips and hers to his.
Emma stared at his lips speechless.
-3 Years Earlier-
Emma curled up on her bed catching the tears that fell from her eyes in her pillow. Killian came running in and sat next to her on her bed.
"He's just a stupid boy." Killian said like what an older sister, or mother would say to a broken hearted sixteen year old girl.
Emma wrapped her arms around him without making eye contact. Her tears now flooding his lap, not only her tears but everything that goes along with sobbing. He rubbed her back as she sat back up.
She looked into Killian's eyes. "He told me he loved me. We never even kissed. And then he went and did only god knows what with that girl Tamara."
"I know" Killian caressed her hand. "That guy... Neal. He'll learn what a stupid mistake it was leaving the most amazing girl ever."
She used her blanket to wipe her face as she smiled. "I've never even kissed a boy. He wanted someone more experienced."
"A person's greatness isn't measured on experience, but simply on how great you are." he grinned. "And you Swan, are the greatest person I know."
She looked deep into his eyes and let out a steady breath. "What's wrong with me?"
"What the devil are you talking about Swan? Nothing is wrong with you." he answered without hesitation.
"Then why doesn't anyone want to... I don't know kiss me." it didn't take long for the tears to dry. Killian always knew what to say.
He stared at her smiling wiping away a bit of drool from the corner of her mouth. "Well that's just not true." he leaned in placing his lips on hers. Their lips fit together like puzzle pieces. It was not a sloppy make out kiss. It was just so pure and romantic. Emma could feel her stomach doing flips. She felt like she was floating. That moment was perfect. He pulled away just a few seconds later but t felt like an eternity.
"No one can know we did that." he chuckled. Emma nodded in agreement. She even happened to forget what she was upset about.
-3 Years Later-
"Are you just going to stare or are you going to kiss me?" he grinned.
Emma shook her head. "I'm sorry Killian. I have to go." she took his jacket off her shoulders and handed it back to him running to her car pulling out the piece of paper with her parents address on it. "Lock up would you?" she shouted out the window to him as she pulled out of the parking lot heading to the address on the paper.
