Day 3: Time To Say Goodbye
Have I ever mentioned the fact that I've been really happy these days?
I don't know what's up with me; I'm just really happy these days. It's as if nothing could ever go wrong. Maybe that's just the effect of having Fighting Pandas in the country. The effect was so strong. But I didn't mind. The little feelings like these were what made people happy.
Today was the last day of the festival, I knew that well. If only I could stay from the very start of the event up until it ends. Time was something I couldn't buy—no one could. But if only reality wasn't that bad. If only... my life could have been like a K-drama.
I wasn't able to go in the morning and I had to study before leaving the house to attend the festival. My dad said we were only allowed to hang around until six p.m., much to my disappointment. Fighting Pandas were performing at seven thirty and I was staying until six. I felt mad.
Nevertheless, I had to look at the positive sides. At least I was going to the festival again for the last time before this ends. But I couldn't help but feel bitter, too. The main purpose of us going back there is to see Fighting Pandas once last time before they leave.
But I guess it wasn't meant to be. It never was.
If it weren't for reality, life would be easy and everything would be perfect. But then, it'd be boring and there would be nothing left to dream of since everything was already perfect. I guess that's the purpose of reality. For us to keep dreaming.
We arrived in Timesquare shortly. Other than the fact today was the last chance to see Fighting Pandas, it was also the day I'll be hanging out with Syimah, Ayesha and my friend from my old school, Nabilah. Even if I wouldn't be able to see Fighting Pandas, at least I'd be able to see Nabilah.
My sisters were going with my dad while I hung out with Nabilah. We were so excited to see each other and immediately went to buy Korean food before anything. I was a little hungry, anyway.
We purchased kimbap and went to find a place to sit but everywhere was either already occupied or too crowded. So I brought Nabilah to a less crowded area, right near the bookstore in Timesquare and we ate in peace.
I looked around a lot and eventually laughed a little. "I keep looking around, thinking they'd suddenly walk pass by us somehow. For all we know, they could be chilling and walking without us knowing."
Nabilah nodded, agreeing. "True! Where do you think they are right now?"
I looked around again and shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe in their hotel room resting?"
"After this, what should we do?" Nabilah asked me.
I shrugged. "I don't know."
"Oh! I want to take a picture with you while wearing hanboks!" Nabilah said, eating her last kimbap piece before giving me the last piece.
