Shining's POV: I am flying as fast as I can to save Kyoko. Ever since we first met, she's been so kind to me. Whenever my dad, Joseph Star, abused me, she'd use her vampire powers to heal me in exchange for me letting her feed off of my blood. Eventually he went too far and Kyoko ended up getting him arrested.

Kyoko POV: I see a flash of light blue, turquoise, and dark purple before I'm whisked into the air and onto the balcony of a palace by none other than Shining. She must really care about me.

Shining's POV: I cuddle Kyoko after achieving my Arcanix transformation. No way was I gonna let that vampire hunter put a stake through her heart! She's my friend, and true friends are always there for each other.

Kyoko POV: I rest my chin on top of Shining's head. She had long since created an elemental palace so she could get away from her Dad before I got him arrested for child abuse.

Shining's POV: I lead Kyoko inside my elemental palace and shut the balcony doors to block out the snow and cold winds of the Frozen North. We sit down on my queen size four ice poster bed and talk for awhile. After a while, Kyoko whispers into my ear that she's getting bloodthirsty. I turn my body to face her and gently tug her father up on my queen size four ice poster bed. I move my hair back so Kyoko can feed off of my blood. She smiles and gently sinks her razor sharp fangs into the sensitive skin of my neck to feed off of my blood. I don't try to fight back at all, instead I just let Kyoko feed.

Kyoko POV: Shining is such a good friend, letting me feed off of her blood. She doesn't try to fight back at all, instead she just lets me feed while staying completely still, sometimes she even holds my hand in hers, like she's doing right now. Like I said just a few minutes ago, Shining is such a good friend. All the other humans who met me wore garlic accessories coated with salt to keep me away. Shining didn't do that at all. When we first met, it was on top of a building watching the sunset. She walked right over to me, sat down beside me and actually talked to me, and she revealed to me that she was a Crystal Guardian. A few months later we met up again, but that time she was in her Crystal Guardian form, so when I asked why, she revealed to me that she had been assigned to be my Crystal Guardian, which was quite shocking, but we grew to be good friends anyway.

Shining's POV: I remember when I first met Kyoko. *flashback* I am climbing the crystal stairs to the roof of the building to watch the sunset. Better hurry. I make it to the door and open it, shutting it behind me as my Arctic Wolf friend Juno comes out in front of me, my Lunala Faith perched on my shoulder. Someone's already up here. I walk over to them, sit down beside them as Juno lays at my right and ask them, "so...do you come here every day to watch the sunset?" They turn to face me and say, "this is actually my first time. What about you?" I respond, "oh, I come here every day to watch the sunset. The colors remind me of Juno, my Arctic Wolf friend who's been living with me since we were both really young. Anyway, what's your name?" They respond, "my name is Kyoko Kirigiri. And you are?" I respond, "Shining Eclipse Star. Please, call me Shining." I figure out at that moment that Kyoko is a girl. I move my left hand to place it on Kyoko's right hand. Turns out she was gonna place her right hand on top of my left hand. She turns to me after the sun has set and tells me she wants to show me something. She smiles at me while revealing a pair of sharp fangs. I place my right hand to my mouth and quietly gasp. My lips are coated with a pristine layer of mint green lipstick. Kyoko notices the blood in my eye and tells me to come closer to her. Once I get closer to her she gently places her hand on the area directly above my eye and eyelids. The blood in my eye glows and disappears. I thank Kyoko and snuggle up to her seeing as I was wearing my elbow-length sleeved knee-length midnight blue dress that wasn't very thick, that's for sure. A few months later, I fly up to Kyoko and touch down gently in front of her, and she asks suspiciously, "why are you in your Crystal Guardian form?" I respond as I gently grab her black gloved hands between my soft ones, the wrists of which are decorated with a longer piece on top of each sleeve that goes down to my middle finger, "ok, so, what I'm about to tell you is shocking...but..." She asks as she raises one of her lavender eyebrows at me, "but what?" I blurt out, "I've been assigned to be your Crystal Guardian!" She asks softly as her eyes widen in shock, "...what?" I respond as I flap my jewel adorned wings, causing the jewels hanging from the edges to sway with the movement of my wings, "I know...that was my reaction when I found out that I had been assigned to be your Crystal Guardian."*end of flashback* Kyoko gently removes her fangs from my neck, applying firm pressure to the bite wounds to stop the bleeding. I walk over to the balcony doors and check what time it is outside after opening the doors and notice it's nighttime. I change into my Cresselia night dress and the matching slippers then shut the balcony doors and we both fall asleep snuggling, Kyoko's grip being tight enough to prevent me from rolling over but not tight enough to prevent me from breathing. Every once in a while I feel her long lavender hair brushing against my face, and it's really soft, so she must take good care of it.
