“Look out” someone yells from afar making me turn, only to see a soccer ball fast approaching towards me. I tried to move away but it was too late. The ball collides with my head causing me to fall hard on the ground.

I shook my head completely dazed. “Are you okay?” I squinted at the boy who seems to be looking at me like I was some strange creature.

“I’m fine” I smile, assuring him that I was okay. He then nods at me in response and starts jogging back to the field to play again, not even noticing the bump forming in my head.

“Actually it hurt, and it could do me some serious brain damage” I hollered but he didn’t seem to hear me.

“Great just great, Could high school get anymore better than this??” I say to myself. Oh how I wish high-school would end fast.

“Just because your day is terrible doesn’t mean you should blame your high school life for it” the familiar voice made me jump.

“You’re only saying that because your high school life is great” he laughs.

“now. now Heaven don’t be so quick to judge, I do have a great high school life and so do you, everyone loves you” he ruffles my hair, messing it all up.

I removed his hand from my head “No, Everyone is untrue to me here”. He rolls his eyes “ People are People Holly…That’s why we have this thing called trust…think on the bright side..at least you’re lucky enough to have me, your truest friend”.

This was so typical of Tain, my best friend; He’s always so sure of himself.

“What, I am your truest friend, don’t tell me you have replaced me” he narrowed his eyes at me, while I gave him a sly smile.

“Of course not, I may meet thousands of people in my life, but even so I still haven’t found anyone better than you” I said proudly.

He grinned from ear to ear “No one could make my day better than my best friend complementing me about my awesome friendship skills”

The bell rings…

“And nothing could get worse than being late at your worst nightmare’s class” I panicked as I left Aaron there standing confused as I scurried towards my first class.

I made my way through class breathless.

“Miss Hawthorne isn’t it nice of you to join the class” embarrassment flooded over me.

“I’m sorry Mr. Perkins I won’t do it again” He gave me a displeased expression, and I swallowed.

“Well I’m sorry too Miss Hawthorne for I won’t allow you to enter my class for today, you are 20 minutes late and I simply cannot tolerate tardiness in my class, so please exit where you came from”  I wanted to protest but I don’t have the right to do so.

I closed the door slowly and sighed frustrated when I was out of the room.

Now what am I supposed to do, I have never been kicked out of class before and never have I been late. I sighed deeply again, as I slide my back against the wall, into a sitting position. Maybe I could still listen from here, I thought to myself but right when I was about to place my ear on the door, it flew open revealing Mr. Perkins whose nostrils seemed to enlarge as he breathes.

“Miss Hawthorne…” His words lingered, so before he could continue I stood up and ran to my locker.

Stuffing my History book in my inside it, I heard someone humming a tune, so I looked around to see who it was only to find our school Janitor Rex mopping the empty hallway floor, at least he has something to do.
