The dark passenger

The farmer awoke in a cold sweat, his head was aching and his body was sore from yesterday's work. He sighed, wiping away the beads of sweat and started to get up.

The fire had been completely burnt out by now and the cat was now lifeless and burnt. It had an awful smell, the kind you get when you leave a dog in the oven for too long, causing it to overcook.

The storm was still picking up and the sound of branches hitting his shack sent sharp, needle like pains through his already aching head.

A worried look flickered across his face when he realized once the storm had died, his crops and animals would be dead too. He feared that the chicken coop had broken, and let out his source of food and income.

The farmer decided to check on the chickens. Pulling on his jacket and slipping on his shoes. He made his way through the storm to the chicken coop. The sky was dark, due to the storm clouds that gathered above him. It was still raining hard and the wind was cold.

The chicken coop was broken and all the chickens had escaped. He tried to herd them back into the coop but with no such luck he gave up. When all hope had been lost, the last thing he could of expected happened.

The farmer looked into the distance and saw, him.

His black eyes were shining in what was left of the light, dark brown hair flowing in the wind and an immensely charming face. He ran (it was more like a gallop) toward the farmer and while still looking fabulous he herded all the chickens back into there coop.

The farmer still dazed from this act. Ran towards the seemingly amazing Being that stood before him.

He grabbed a rope and wrapped it around the strangers neck pulling it tight and tying the other end of the rope to the chicken coop. Walking closer he bent down and stroked its back.

The farmer had many animals on his farm but never one quite like this. But now the farmer had one. He finally had a goat.
