For him, days like this rarely happened. When he had smiled in when he had awakened from his sleep. His jet black hair glimmered in the reflection light when he had looked out the window at the softly fallen snow. It's finally ended. The Iron Curtain is taken down and replaced with those white, blue and red colors. Everyone was smiling, the Cold War has come to a close. Давид (David) was enjoying the view, and then his friend called him.
" Давид?"
"Yes, Иван(Ivan)?" the young boy replied.
"Both of us have an interview today! We might get adopted!" Ivan said, excited, as he held a mug of coffee.
The two boys were the only children in the orphanage, aside from the woman who runs it, Анастасия(Anastasiya). It was the day after Christmas, and David and Ivan had known each other for so long that they were as inseparable as a shadow to a body. They were like brothers. David was older by 4 years; he was fourteen, and Ivan was ten. Both wanted to get adopted together so they could spend the holiday season together.
"Yes! We are totally both going to be adopted!" David yelled.
Suddenly petrified, Ivan whispered to him, "David, I'm just as excited as you are, but keep it down. You don't want to wake Anastasiya up."
David turned pale in fear. The last time that happened, she put him in Lake Adygeis; the below-zero degree temperature haunted him for months. General Winter would be proud.
"Okay..." Ivan watched as his poor friend's soul left through his mouth. Then David asked, "May I have a sip?"
"Okay."
David took the mug and his soul was back. He felt warm. "Mmm. That's some good coffee. Let's go eat!"
