The two boys went to the kitchen and they made themselves Sandwiches with kolbasa. Anastasiya woke up and walked into the dining room where David and Ivan were.
"Привет(greetings), Давид & Иван," she said as she sat down at the table, and stared at the two boys groggily.
"Good Morning!" Both of them said cheerfully. "Ivan, did you tell David about your interview today at noon?" Anastasiya asked as she got up and made herself a cup of coffee.
"Da, I did."
"We want to get adopted by the same family! Then we will be siblings!" David chimed in. Both of the young men smiled at each other at the fact both of them were happy.
"You two just don't get it do you?" The young woman said with an irritated tone.
"Pardon?" David replied back innocently.
"The reason why you two won't get adopted is because, the visitors don't want a second child. They would gladly accept you David. You're the perfect child anyone would want. Ivan doesn't have any of the skills, you have, so of course nobody would want him."
"You take that back! Now!" David said in defense. She was really starting to make his blood boil. "Oh? Did I say something wrong? Or it the fact he can't read, write, or worst of all, he's autistic? She laughed as she poked fun at Ivan's mental disability. Ivan started to look down in shame.
"Why are you doing this? What has he ever done to you?" David said as he stared at the young woman with such an icy stare, if it weren't for the laws of physics, she would've been crystallized.
"What has he done to me? What has he done to me?!" She asked, her voice raising in the process, and her eye twitching.
"He has kept me working here at this wretched orphanage for years! Ivan is reason you two are still here! I would finally be able to shut down this place, if it weren't for your stupid hopes of living together! It. Will. Never. Happen." Anastasiya said smugly to the both of them. Ivan's felt heart shatter and felt tears starting to roll down his face, but David wasn't going to let her insult his friend.
"Take that back now!" He yelled.
"Why should I? What are you going to do about it?" She exchanged smoothly. Her voice hasn't faltered a bit. David attempted to right hook her, but she caught his arm. His eyes widened, frightened at what was going to happen next. Anastasiya giggled as she twisted his arm, causing him to scream in pain. "Stop!" Ivan yelled as he ran up to her. She covered his mouth and heard his muffled screams, and saw his tears. "Ivan!" David yelled. He was slammed against the wall.
"Listen to me you собака (dog). If you think you can defend Ivan in anyway, I'll break your arms. Понимаю (Understand) Давид?" She said sounding so malevolent and insanely calm all the while.
"..."
"..." Both of them were shocked and so petrified, they didn't say anything. She took the silence as a yes and dropped David to the floor, and let Ivan go.
"My life would be so much better without you two. Anyway, I was going tell you two, you have separate interviews. Have fun." She smiled insanely as she left the young men in the dining room, flicking her platinum blonde hair. Ivan looks at his fallen friend and starts to cry again. David wakes up and pulls him into a hug. "It's okay my friend. We'll both get out of here. Together."
