The Stone Maze

As I walked through the moonlit forest, the only sound that could be heard was the leaves crunching beneath my feet. A light fog had started to drift through the daunting  trees, making it harder than ever to see where I was going. I stopped. All was silent and dark clouds had already devoured every last piece of moonlight. Everything was still. No breeze rustled the leaves, no animals made the bushes twitch. Nothing. I suddenly jumped as I heard a twig snap about two metres behind me. I started to run. I had no idea where I was going and the trees were becoming more dense, making more obstacles in my path. Whatever it was that had made that twig snap was following me. I could hear it's pounding feet and heavy breathing a couple of feet behind me. I pressed on, knowing that if I stopped I would be killed. I suddenly ran into a large clearing and just ahead of me I could just make out a stone building through the fog. As I ran closer and closer, I found that it wasn't a building at all, it was a maze.

Hey guys, this is my first chapter in The Stone Maze. I'm planning on getting through what happens in the maze and what's chasing the girl, then I'm gonna do a back story as to why she was there in the first place and why the thing that was chasing her is their target. I hope you enjoy reading, I'm probably going to do an update either every day or every other day I'm unsure yet:)
