You've probably noticed that I like putting events of the past as my introductions. Well, technically the whole story is in the past, so whatever.

-Chris' PoV-

Honey, you are a rock

Upon which I stand

And I came here to talk

I hope you understand

I had no clue where these brilliant lyrics were coming from, but they were definitely smart. Each one flowed into my mind, and I wrote down the song as the whole thing started playing out in my head.

The green eyes

Yeah, the spotlight shines upon you

And how could

Anybody deny you

"What should I call it? Well, who did I write it for?" I mused out loud. "Well, Jonny, of course. I've written everything for him. But this is special. This isn't like Yellow or Shiver," I had to quiet down; Jonny was was sleeping just metres away. I looked over to where he slept, and sure enough, he was sleeping like a baby. He couldn't have heard what I was mumbling about. "But what to call it?" I whispered.

The green eyes... That lyric repeated itself in my head, like my soul was telling me something. "Hmm, yes, that's it... Green Eyes..." On the top of the legal pad, I scribbled down the title of "Green Eyes". I smiled at my finished product. It was the best song I had written so far for our new album. I flung the notepad on my nightstand, turned off my reading light and rolled over to sleep. I could finally sleep after a restless night of trying to write the perfect song.

"What do you think, Will?" I asked nervously. If he didn't like it, it wouldn't go on the album. I personally loved my new song, and in the early hours of dawn I had already written an acoustic guitar melody for it. I was ready to put it on an album.

He read the song a few times, nodding. "Wow, I really like it, Chris. Have you got a melody for it?"

I beamed, picking up my guitar to play the melody. Will listened with content as I played the song mellifluously. I had been practising all morning for Will to hear it. When I strummed the last chord, he nodded again. "And that's it," I said.

"Good. Very good. I'm sure Angela will love that you wrote this song for her."

That's when my heart fell. I had forgotten about Angela. She was my girlfriend, and she had green eyes, like Jonny. The thing was, I didn't actually like her much, yet she was crazy about me. It felt horrible to do this to such a sweet girl, but I needed a cover. I couldn't just tell everyone that I liked Jonny. All sorts of things could happen.

I had kept it a secret since I fell in love with him. It was unexpected, because at the time I thought I had a girl obsession. To suddenly fall for my male best friend turned my world. All the love songs I've written are for him, but it seems that everyone is under the belief that they are for Angela, who I've pretended to date ever since I found out about my feelings for Jonny.

And I was ready to confess. "Will, I think we need to talk. Get Guy in here, he should know this."

Will looked at me with concern and sympathy, preparing for what I was about to tell him. I could always rely on him, not particularly Guy, but he could certainly help me through this. Get rid of the feelings that Jonny will never reciprocate. If I keep quiet, I'll lose control, do something stupid, and lose him for the rest of my life. "What is it?"
