Ashley's P.o.v

I am so sick of this damn highway! Its all the same. Cars, Cars, woods, trees, and more freaking cars! Yes it's useful since there are a lot of supplies left in them but come on!!! I need a change of scenery here! Wonder where Aubree is. Thinking of my sister my mood instantly dampened. She's fine though I just know it. She's ok. Suddenly in the distance I heard the loud roar of a motorcycle. And it was approaching quicker than I hoped. I dove under one of the cars with my gun in hand, my bow on my back, and my quiver on my leg. Sure my gun was out of bullets, but it's still good for a bluff. When the motorcycle got too loud for comfort I covered my ears and squeezed my eyes shut. Praying to myself that they'd keep going. But unfortunately for me gods not accepting messages right now and the cycle stopped behind my car. I looked for feet and found the man on the bike had big heavy boots on. Looking further behind I saw an r.v. I heard the door open and saw a lot of people step out.
"What did I tell ya?!"
An old man's voice said loudly,
"That hose is shot and now we can't get a new one and-"
He was interrupted by another man.
"Dale look around." He said.
Dale,I conclude, is the old man who talked first. After a second he muttered to himself.
"Well that was dumb."
"Alright everyone lets look through these cars and see what we find."
Another male voice said.
Dear God how many guys are in this group?! This is my chance though. While they're looking I'll slip into the woods. Quietly sliding out from under the car I held my gun in front of me. Before I even took 5 steps. A woman softly asked me. She had long black hair and pretty blue eyes.
"Who are you?"
I pointed my gun at her and said back
"I just wanna leave don't scream."
But as soon as she saw the gun she yelled.
"RICK!!"
Shit! I turned around to run but the third man who's voice I heard, who I assume is the leader, shouted at me.
"Stop or I'll shoot you!"
Stopping dead in my tracks with my hands up I turned around.
"Drop your gun." Rick ordered. I squatted and look at the ground when I carefully set my gun on the concrete. When I looked up my eyes widened. I saw him. His Brown hair longer. He wore a flannel with the sleeves cut off and dirt covered his face. Daryl.
"Daryl?" I whispered. No it can't be him. This is another hallucination.
"Ash? Is that you?"
"Are, are you real?" I whispered back.
"Pretty damn sure I am." This was it it's really Daryl. Running at him with open arms I wrapped them around his waist. Before I could stop them tears streamed out of my eyes.
"You know her?" Rick asked.
"Yea I know this little Shit."
I smiled. But then I felt Daryls body tense.
He put his hands on my shoulders and pushed me away just enough to look in my eyes.
"Ashley." His voice shook.
"Where's Aubree?"
I looked at the ground.
"I don't know."
Daryl dropped to his knees with tears in his eyes he asked, "How do you not know?"
"We got separated a while back. It was my fault."
Daryl let go of my shoulders and wrapped his arms around me and buried his face in my neck.
*1 hour later*
This really nice woman named Carol gave me a bowl of soup or something and Daryl and I discussed Aubree.
"Ok Ashley what happened?"
"We found houses they were across from each other. I checked one she checked another. I was about to come back out but I didn't know there was a herd out there. They saw me open the door and came at me. But... but Aubree ran out there and shot the ones closest to me. She yelled at me to head to Fort Benning and she'd find me. They all went after her but she ran into the woods. I'm so sorry Daryl. This is all my fault. Daryl during the story had put his face in his hands.
"She's alive though." I stated confidently.
"How can you be so sure? If you've been separated for 4 months?"
Shane asked.
Don't trust him. Big man bad. Shane is your enemy. Shane wishes to hurt you. Shane cannot be trusted.
In a cold voice I looked to him and said, "I just know."
Shane scoffed, shook his head, and crossed his arms.
"And how exactly have you, a 14 year old little girl, been traveling for 4 months alone and have not died?"
"That is a valid question." Andrea commented.
"I wasn't alone."
This caught Daryls attention.
"What? Who was it?"
Looking Daryl in the eyes I gave him a look.
"An old friend."
My voice was monotone as it always is when I talk about her. Daryl thought for a minute then stiffened as he caught the meaning in my words. He shook his head.
"What?" Rick asked.
"Daryl do you know them? Who she was with."
Daryl glanced at me.
"I've met her once and I don't care to see her again."
Ooo are you going to let me come out and play again? I really hope so it's been so long since I've visited. Or will you try to keep me trapped in the dark crevice of your mind?
Her dark chuckle echoed in my mind.
"What's her name?" Lori asked.
Looking into the fire I said in another monotone voice,
"Her name is Luna." I small smile crept its way to my face.
"What happened to her?"
Rick asked leaning closer in.
"Nothing. Nothing happened to her. Unfortunately. " looking at Daryl I abruptly stood up.
"I'm tired is it ok if I sleep in one of these cars?"
I asked no one in particular.
"You can sleep in the R.v if you'd like?"
Dale offered.
"No it's ok. I prefer to sleep alone."
"Ok sweetie let me get you some blankets." Carol stood up and walked to the r.v.
Glenn stood up as well. "I'll grab you a pillow."
After they handed me my things I smiled sweetly at them.
"We thank you."
Turning around I said my goodnights to everyone.
When I gave Daryl the hug goodnight he whispered in my ear, "we're going to talk later." I nodded and walked to the nearest car with all the Windows rolled up. After climbing in and building my bed I laid down before shutting my eyes I whispered, "Goodnight Luna."
Goodnight worthless.
With that I drifted off to sleep.
