- Elise -

"Hey, I'm home," Felix shouted from downstairs as he closed the door to the apartment.

"He's here," Lucille stated.

"Obviously," Haylie rolled her eyes.

"So we have to tell him!" She finished.

"Or ask him, Lucy," I looked at her, correcting her plan that had clearly not been thought through.

"But we can't not go visit Aunt Anne," She protested.

"Well," Haylie got off of her bed. "Elise and I are going to ask him," She told Lucy. I got up from my bed and followed her downstairs, Lucy reluctantly following behind us.

"Hey Felix, I greeted him, sitting down at the kitchen counter

"Hey 'lise," He responded, putting down his phone. "Haylie, Lu." He said as they sat beside me. "

"Hello," they chorused.

"Work gave me two weeks off for christmas," He said, opening the fridge and getting out a water bottle. "One week during chrismas, one after." he turned back around, opening the bottle. He stopped what he was doing and looked at us.

"What?" He asked, his eyes flicking from face to face. "I know that face, what is it?" We looked at eachother, silently deciding who would ask.

"So as you know, we've been in contact with Aunt Anne," Haylie began.

"And we were wondering," Lucy continued.

"If we could all go visit her for Christmas." I finished. Felix didn't respond for a minute. That only meant he was thinking it through. But we were impatient for an answer. Lucy drummed her nails on the counter, the same hopeful look on her face mirrored on mine and Haylie's. The only times it had ever taken Felix this long to think something through, he had said no. I could tell Haylie an Lucy were starting to get nervous as well.

"Okay." He finally said.

"Really?" I squealed, already excited.

"Felix, you rock," Haylie smiled. Lucy looked too excited to say anything.

"When are we going to go?" I asked.

"Probably tomorrow," Felix replied. It made sense now that he had thought so long and said yes. "I ordered pizza for dinner, so I'll book the tickets after we eat. Then we can pack.

- Haylie -

I threw the crust of my pizza out along with the paper plate, graciously provided by the pizza place Felix had ordered from, then followed Elise and Lu upstairs.

"So we should call Aunt Anne and tell her we're coming," I said, putting my dark hair into a ponytail. "She did say we could visit anytime."

"Yeah, I have the number," Lucy grabbed a sheet of paper, Aunt Anne's last letter, as she put her own hair into a messy bun. Elise tossed her phone to Lu, and she dialed Aunt Anne's number. The phone was answered on the fifth ring.

"Hello?"

"Hi Aunt Anne, it's Lucille," Lucy replied.

"And Haylie," I introduced myself.

"And Elise," Elise twirled her hair around her finger.

"Oh, Hi girls!" She said excitedly.

"So how are you?" I asked happily.

"Oh, I'm great, how are you girls?"

"Good,"

"Fine,"

"Awesome,"

we all answered.

"So we were wondering," Lucy got straight to the point. "If it was okay to come visit you as soon as tomorrow for Christmas."

"Oh," Aunt Anne said.

"Is this too sudden?" I asked, worried we had crossed a line.

"No, no! It's fine. It's just the guest rooms. We have to fix them up for you. But we can do that by tomorrow."

"Sorry about the short notice," Elise apologized. "We just really wanted to meet you."

"It's alright. Will Felix be coming too?"

"Yeah, that's the plan," I clarified.

"Good. I'm looking forward to it!" She said. "Now, I think it's best we say goodbye for now, I need to fix the guest rooms, you need to pack and prepare for the flight. We'll be seeing eachother tomorrow! I have a surprise for you when you come, too."

"Alright, I guess we'll see you tomorrow," Lucy said.

"I'm so excited, Text me what time you'll arrive so I can pick you up."

"We will. Bye," I promised.

"Bye," She said before hanging up the phone.

"We're going to California," I realized, even more excitement sparking in me.

"More importantly, Los Angeles," Elise sighed just thinking about it.

"To meet our aunt," Lucy reminded us, getting up and pulling three suitcases from our closet.
