"Peeta?" I tiredly called out from the bedroom.

"Yes?" He yells. I smell eggs, he must be in the kitchen.

"Are you ready for the reaping today?" I say with a sad tone in my voice.

"What reaping?"

"The Capitol children, it's today. Remember? We voted on it when the rebellion was going on.." He knows I regret saying yes, but I just wanted my revenge, for Prim.

"Oh. I forgot. That's today?" He walks in and stares at me layered in covers.

I suddenly notice that his beautiful blue eyes have turned to a pale, sad gray with tiny blue flecks. I don't want him to suffer through this, I know I can change it. I'm the mocking jay.

"Yes it's today, so get a shirt on and we can leave, silly!" I say, trying to make him laugh, and it succeeds, thankfully.

"Okay okay! There's just one more thing I need to do..." Then he pulls me out of the bed and kisses me on the forehead, which turns into a long, passionate kiss. then I hear a bang on the door.

"It must be Haymitch. He's going today too Peeta. Hurry and get dressed!" I then put on my robe and run to the door.

"Hello, sweetheart." Haymitch slurred his words.

"Ah, I can tell you've only had 5 bottles of vodka, good job."

"I didn't sign up for this crap you know, and you didn't either Katniss sweetheart." I think that's the first time he's said my name, but he says it more like Katnuz.

Then Peeta appears. He's kind of just standing there, waiting for something exciting to happen, so I kiss him on the lips, which really startles Haymitch I guess.

"I thought you just saved that for the arena, but I guess not." He says smiling.

--------------------------------At the Capitol--------------------------------

The woman announcing the reaping makes me miss Effie, having not seen her in a while. But this lady is named Portia Hydenia, and she has a light purple tinted skin, with an ugly tint of olive green for her wig. She's wearing that same maroonish purple Effie wore at our reaping. She looks as if she's about to cry, maybe her own child is in the audience, waiting for their name to be drawn.

"Ladies and gentlemen. The day we've been waiting for. Twenty-Four children will be drawn. Twelve boys, twelve girls. As always," she gulps, "ladies first." She calls out a list of names, and for the first time in my life, I'm relieved that I don't have to worry for my name or Prim's name to be called. She then pulls out the last name, which catches my ear. The girl walks up, with two braids like Prim used to wear. I feel for her, knowing I am the reason her grandfather died, and I'm the reason she was called up to that horrible stage.

Yes, the name of this girl was nonetheless, Felecity Snow.

--------------------------------Back at Peeta's--------------------------------

"I love you." Peeta whispers in my ear. We're laying in his bed, arms wrapped around each other. Once again, he's shirtless, but I don't mind that. His body warmth radiates in the covers, and I love that.

"I love you, too Peeta Mellark. I hope one day I can be Katniss Mellark." Which makes him kiss me. Then Haymitch barges in.

"What the hell are you doing?" He yelled. "Peeta Mellark, she is only 18 years old, don't you dare get her, oh." Then he realized we were kissing, and my pants and shirt were on.

"Haymitch, thank you for embarrassing me, really appreciate that." I said.

"Sorry about that. You too get back to your kissing, and uh, stuff." Haymitch said as he walked out.

"Gladly." Said Peeta beaming.

Chapter 2:

-------At the Capitol's Viewing for the Hunger Games-------

"I don't even know what to do!" Peeta yelled in my ear.

"Just try to watch it, God. I didn't choose it this way, I was really infuriated for Prim. You know I miss her Peeta. You know she meant the world to me. Don't you understand?" I was crying.

"No I don't."

There's no one else in the room except Haymitch, who had been drinking quite frequently since we arrived here.

The Hunger Games Committee (HGC) thought that we could train the Capitol children, but then they decided it would be best to hire people to train them. They spent at least $5,000 on hiring 24 trainers.

I feel as if we were being too harsh when we decided for this. But at least we aren't being as harsh as the Capitol was to us. We're letting 2 children win, whether it be two girls, or one boy and one girl, or two boys. You have to make alliances, and even I know you can't kill your ally.

Suddenly a loud speaker comes on. It's the Capitol children's test scores coming on the television. Many people in normal and exotic clothing file into the area.

The highest score was a 5. Out of 12.

And it was yours truly, Felicity Snow.

How pitiful, I had never had 1,000 dollar trainers in my life, and she and the other children had been raised to fight, just not for anything. Now it's time the Capitol gets their payback. My Prim was killed for helping. Now it's time they get killed for cheering on death.

----In the Hotel----

All I remember was waking up screaming "NO! NOT AGAIN!" and Peeta wrapping his warm, muscular arms around me. I can't seem to get over the pang of guilt I have felt since we got here. There's only one more day until the children get into that arena. I don't know if I can honestly stand to watch. I have to do something about this.
