Laura awoke, a loud noise had struck the floor making her body shiver in fear, and she finally relaxed, taking a deep breath in. She slid herself back into her cotton sheets, it was winter, and she had a gigantic, white, and furry comforter. It was an obsession of hers, even though it was the deans, and remembering that life or death situation haunted Laura every night, Laura absolutely took it with her everywhere. Sometimes just down the stairs for a late night cookie snack, or cuddling with Carmilla, it didn't matter, that blanket was hers. The large, wooden, victorian bed frame squeaked as she finally laid her head on the feather pillows. Laura's hand scrambled by her side and she felt around for another's. "Carm," Laura giggles, thinking Carmilla is just being playful, "where's your hand Carm?" She flipped over to nuzzle up against her, narcissistic, perfectly annoying, beautiful, wonderful, and amazing partner. All Laura's head felt was an untouched pillow and Carmilla's shoulder nowhere to be found. With power she jolted from the bed, looking around in the darkness, her feet getting cold from the wooden flooring, Laura steps over onto a bear rug, and crosses her arms. She squints and turns around pulling a light string and watched it slowly flicker on. Even Laf couldn't fix their electricity to bright and new, the house was so large that it took about 8 lights for one room. "HOLY HUFFLEPUFF!" Laura was screeching a house name made by her one and only, J.K Rowling, because she didn't like to swear very much, unlike her feisty girlfriend Carmilla. That wasn't the only reason why though. A trail of red blood streaked on the floor all the way down the stairs, leading to the front door. Along with that, Laura's beautiful Dr. Who mug was shattered, and made a mess of the flooring, for Carmilla and her's cocoa was spilt on the floor. The tiny marshmallows that she adored so much were disintegrating, getting too soaked up with cocoa. But, this did not matter, well just a little to Laura, but HER NOW MORTAL GIRLFRIEND WAS MISSING. All I can say is that for a good five minutes Laura cried over her mug, cocoa, and especially her girlfriend. "Ok, Laura focus, um, your girlfriend is missing. Huh, not the first time, BUT STILL, your boo is GONE!" Laura put her hands on her hips and breathed in deeply, and started to get lightheaded. She leaned against her bed and fell on her back closing her eyes, calming down. Laura opened her eyes and a message of blood was written on the ceiling. "I'VE COME BACK DARLING, COME FIND YOUR PRETTY LITTLE PARTNER IN YOUR FIRST MEETING PLACE." Laura covered her eyes with her hands, and started to sob, she had just gotten Carmilla back, everything was supposed to be wonderful. She was supposed to have her long, lasting relationship with her girlfriend, grow old together. Everything was ruined. Her last moments with Carmilla played within her head. Laura's eyes lit up as she stared at a photo of Carm on her bedside table. "It's so beautiful, the way I try. I must find Carmilla."
