     I couldn't belive it.
The day was fine, at least it was for me, until I accidentally bumped into her. She was Cassidy Russell, daughter of the head of the Secret Service, or in better words, my boss. I was thinking about something other then what was coming towards me, and ran straight into her.
"Ouch!" She yelled.
"Sorry! I wasn't watching were I was going."
"Well maybe you should watch out more!"
And she left after saying that.
"Great first impression. Thomas!" I uttered to myself.
Oh I forgot. My name is Thomas Sheaverè. I'm one of the top rated spies in the country. And the girl I was talking about , Cassidy, she's the best spy in the country, no just because her dad is the head of it because she can has a kick-ass attitude that no other girl in the organization has. So that means that every guy here loves her. And I'm one of those guys, except I don't follow her around like the other guys do.
My phone buzzed in my pocket.
Thomas, I need to speak with you in my office immediately. ~ Your boss.
Great. Just great. This means that he was assigning me to a mission he thinks I'll be good at. I'm skilled mostly in technology, since I build my first robot at age 6, and I'm trained very little is personal defence. So I'm not likely the type to go on many assignments, like Cassidy is.
I started walking towards his office and hoped for the best.
I arrived at his door and opened it. His room was barely lit, but that's the way he liked it for some reason.
I sat down in a chair and the door opened again. I turned around to see who it was and I almost died. Cassidy.
Why?
Cassidy gave me a wierd look and sat down in the chair next to me.
"Are you both here?" Boss asked.
"Yes dad." Cassidy replied. All I could do was hope that he wasn't going to put me on a mission with her. He turned around in his chair and the lights came on a little but so we could vary see his face.
"I have a very important assignment for the two of you." He said.
"What is it?" Cassidy asked.
"As you may know the other side has been planning something for the passed two years, and we are still nowhere close to figuring out what it is." He paused. "Your mission is to go undercover in the other side's headquarters and get information about what they're planning."
"And why do I have to work with someone?" Cassidy asked, crossing her arms.
"So it won't turn out like last time, Cass." Her dad said.
Last time Cassidy when on a mission by herself, she almost failed because she spent too much time with this guy she met along the way. One of her flaws was her ability to be easily distracted. And her ability to make almost every guy fall for her. It was insane how many potential boyfriends she could have but never takes the opportunity to get one.
"And I assigned both of you for particular reasons." He turned towards me. "Thomas. You are very skilled with technology and know basically how to do everything with this stuff. You will be the key to this operation."
"Wha-what?"
"This mission will have to have someone like you to track enemy agents and take down security cameras that could get Cass in trouble."
"Oh. Ok." I wasn't doing well with my words. One of my flaws is that I can't really talk in front of people with big authority. Especially him.
"And Cass. You will be the one who will be doing all the dirty work."
"What do you mean by that?"
"I mean you will be the one who's getting us the information. You'll be the one posing as a newly recruited enemy spy."
"That's cool." She leaned back into her chair, her golden brown hair falling off her shoulders. I looked away before anyone could tell that I was staring.
"You will have approximately 3 months to do this. Good luck."
"When do we start?" I asked. The only thing that I said that mattered.
"Friday."
Tonya was Wednesday, so that gave me 2 days to get ready. That wasn't much, but I can figure everything out in an hour or so.
I could tell that this was going to be a breeze. If only Cassidy will make it seem like a breeze.
                                    *   *   *

By Thursday, I was exhausted. I never knew that seeing computers would make me want to die. Mr. Russell, boss, wanted me to be on the highest level of my skill for this mission, which mentioned staying in this cramped van for over 6 hours. Not that I minded small spaces, it's just the fact that he was screaming at me for one simple mistake. Plus it felt like 500° in here. But Cassidy was there and she laughed everytime her dad yelled at me. I would look at her in a way that said HELP ME but she just laughed even more. At least she like it when I messed up.
When it was about 5:00, Mr. Russell finally let me stop for dinner. I was glad because I haven't eaten anything since breakfast, so I was starving.
"You coming with us?" Cassidy asked me.
"Umm.... I guess." I said. I could feel my face turning red.
"OK. Come on!" She grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards the parking lot.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"Burger King."
"Aweosme."
I love Burger King. So of I accidentally go crazy with the chicken nuggets, you'll know why. I can see why I have no girlfriend.
After we ordered, we sat down at a table. Mr. Russell sat at another table, while talking on the phone in what sounded like German, leaving Cassidy and I at our own table. God, why was I freaking out so much?
"You look nervous. Why?" Cassidy was looking me square in the eye. God, why were her eyes such a pretty blue?
"I-I-I."
"WHY? Are you one of the guys who have a huge crush on me?" She was being sarcastic with me. I liked it.
"I'm just worried that you'll think I'm wierd when I get my food."
"And why would I think that?"
"Because I kind of freak when I see chicken nuggets." I was blushing so badly right now.
"Oh, well you haven't seen weird until you've seen my dad with barbecue sauce. And me with a burrito."
"Oh that's something that I want to see now." Well both laughed. The thought of Mr. Russell with barbecue sauce all over his face made me almost loose it. Reason why I didn't is because we got our food. Man I was starving.
"Wow you really devour those nuggets." Cassidy looked at me with a smile.
"I haven't eaten since 7 time moring so I have an excuse."
"My dad really wants this mission to succeed. I don't know why he's putting all the pressure on you instead of me, but it's funny to see him yell at you."
"Yeah but you have no idea how hard it is to program and hack computers."
"Weren't you the kid who invented his first robot at age 8?"
"6."
"Six? Dang!"
"Yeah. So I have lots of experience."
"When I was six, I was playing with chemicals and studying the periodic table." Her eyes suddenly got huge. "I wasn't supposed to say that."
"Why not?"
"Because my dad doesn't want his daughter to be known as a geek and not a tough time girl."
"I think don't think it's geeky."
"Well cause you're a geek, Sheaverè."
"Hey! That's rude, but also very true." I bit into my nugget and Cassidy laughed.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah?" Oh no. No telling what she was going to ask me.
"Can I trust you?"
"Well I mostly stay in my house and I don't have a roommate and the only other living thing on my house is my dog, Paris, so I guess."
"Ok. From when I was age 5, I wanted to be a computer genius, but my my dad said that wouldn't be smart, but I never gave up on it."
"So what are you asking me?" My heart was racing.
"Could you teach me some techniques you know?"
"Yeah sure."
"Thank you on much!"
"Welcome, Cassidy."
"Please, call me Cass."
"Cass?"
"Yes."
"Ok."
I don't know how I managed through that. Could she not see my face?
"What kind of dog do you have?"
"Great Pyrénées."
"I love that breed!"
"They can be really aggressive and then they can be big babies. It's really adorable sometimes."
"I know. I used to have one of my own, but he died a few years ago from old age. He was about 17 years old."
"Dang mine's only 3 years old."
"I miss mine."
Cass and I talked for the next 20 minutes. I felt like I was talking to my dog when I was with her. Her dad came over to us.
"Well, we better get back to the headquarters." He said, walking towards the door.
When we got back to headquarters, Cass pulled me aside outside the door.
"I'm kind of glad that you got picked for this mission." She said.
"I'm glad too."
She gave me a hug, and I swear I almost fell. Why is she being so nice to me when I bumped into her yesterday and she hated me? Or was she trying to figure out my weaknesses and take me down there? Or maybe she thought to much of it and forgot about it. Either one of those ways, I would be spending about every months with her. This would be some of the best time of my life. Well at least I hoped.

                                     *   *   *
When I got home, Samson was waiting for me by the door, like he always does. I rubbed his neck and walked over to my kitchen. I pulled out a Ginger Ale and sat on he couch. He came over to me and stared next to me with his head in my lap.
"Guess what happened to me today?"
He looked at me.
"I got assigned to a mission with Cassidy, Cass, and she and I talked alot in Burger King. And I didn't freak about the nuggets this time."
About 10 minutes later, I walked into my bathroom. I took a shower and brushed my teeth. I when to my room and literally fell into my bed. I never really wanted to get out, but tomorrow I would be leaving. I fell asleep thinking about how tomorrow would probably be the worst and the best day of my life. I also thought about Cass.
