Part 1 - Failure

Failure
Everything was in pain. The way I talked, walked, slept, ate, and more. Everything was different. The air was much more thicker and the atmosphere has drifted. Imani's appearance will be the best thing right now. I know she deserves to be up above the clouds where she can be happy. She can be the happiest girl up there. As long as she's happy, I will accept it. The rest of my weekend was boring. Clarissa sent me texts to help me cheer up but it never worked.

Monday, November 7th
I woke up. Got up and did my routine. I got in the car earlier than suppose to and waited for my mom. She got in the car and she looked at me. Grinned.

Jake's mom- it's ok sweetheart. I know you can get through it. I believe you can. But Imani would be happy if you continued doing your thing. She will remain in your heart and guide you. But as for now, you can get through it.

Jake- yeah I understand. But it's going to be hard. Nothing is going to cheer me up at this point, but I believe I can get through it as well.

She smiled and started the car. On our way there I was listening to TØP. I studied for an exam while getting over there. Everything was going easy and calm. I enjoyed it while it lasted. I appreciate how life is taking me easy.

Once we got there, she dropped me off where usual. I saw Clarissa, but I ignored her. I went straight to the group that can make me happy.

Sabrina- hey we heard the news..

Jake- who told you?

Alondra- morning announcements. They say everything every student needs to know. Including who got their period.

Victoria- *smacks Alondra.

Alondra- OW FUCK. Ok I'm sorry I understand what you are going through and I'm so so so sorry for joking around.

Sabrina- actually Alondra is on her period right no-

Alondra- SABEANS STOP.

Sabrina- lel.

Jake- it's ok. Imani is in a better place now.

Alondra- WHAT. NO THE NEWS WE WERE TALKING ABOUT IS THAT THEY REMOVED ENCHILADAS FROM THE CAFETERIA.

Victoria- that is obviously a lie Alondra. We know about Imani don't worry Jake.

Alondra- fuck.

After school, Jake's home, 3:58 pm

We got an invitation to Imani's funeral. Of course we were attending. It's tomorrow and that's the last time I get to see her. I wish I can talk to her but sadly of course I can't. Looks like I'm skipping school tomorrow along with Clarissa. If she even attends. I was imagining that this is just all a dream but it's too hard to even imagine. Everything I just thought about is usually misunderstanding. But the thing I'm confused with is what caused her death? Was it an overdose? I realized I haven't even seen Clarissa's texts at all. I open it up.

Clarissa- hey. So I just gotten news from the hospital.. So Imani died due to organ failure. Even though she was shot in the shoulder, they told me it could either be that the shot caused an infection and spread to her organs. Or that she must've stabbed herself there but they just haven't noticed. But the second reason is most likely not true because the people she was working with were specialists. I hope you get better soon. And to let you know, if you need to talk I am always here. I'm so sorry that you lost someone so important to you. I would do anything to see you happy again. Bye. I wish you the best of luck...

I teared up. But at least Imani is safe now.
