I live on a remote island called "The Isle of Flames".

Legend tells that our peaceful home was once frought with danger, Dragons soared the skies attacking villagers, Ogres with great clubs would burn homes and slaughter children, Wolves would steal away in the night and infants would go missing only for their skeletal remains to be found later, Goblins roamed the forests in search of weary travellers to kidnap and make into slaves.

The Legends go on and on...but none intrigue me more than the Legend of the Last Dragon...

The villagers were terrified, nobody was safe from the monsters of the skies...so they made a Champion. They forged him armor from metal deep inside the Earth, burned with the hottest coals at the peak of the Volcano.

They made his body from the bones of the dead mixed with the blood of the living.

A warlock from a far away land came to finish the Champion. He bound a soul from the darkest depths of hell to the bones, with on roder and one alone; Kill the dragon.

The Champion hunted for days with no nourishment, nor sleep.

Legend tells that the Champion searched for a decade before he found the Dragon.

With eyes as red as blood and scales blacker than sin, he stood. The dragon was great, but evil. He stood at five hundred feet long and two-hundred-fifty feet tall, which was massive.

Steam rolled from his nostrils when he laid his red eyes upon the Champion.

The roar that tore through the Dragons' throat was so fearsome and mighty, they say even God himself trembled.

The Champion stood stong and the battle began.

Many days and nights did the Champion fight, but his sword did not pierce the scales of the Dragon. The Dragon could not smite the Champion.

The war went on.

That is all the Legend tells.

Some say the Dragon rose victorious and lives deep within the volcano in the Isle of Flames, others say the Champion won and burned the Dragon in the depths of hell when he returned to the Devils land, few even believe the war rages on in another world.

But I believe the Dragon never existed, it is just what it is; A story, a made up tale to help pass the time.

Legends are just that - Legends.
