Becca:
'BEEP! BEEP ! BEEP! BEEP!'
Ugh. Stupid alarm. I hate Monday morning blues. I rolled out of my bed, slammed my hand down forcefully at the alarm clock and went to the bathroom. I looked at my self in the mirror. Is my hair a nest or what? It was sticking out in odd angles here and there. I quickly brushed my teeth and took a cold shower. It should get me up and ready for school!
I was in my senior year. 12th grade. I'm all grown up now! I hoped to pursue a career in writing or something. I just wanted to get into Harvard, Yale, Princeton or Stanford. But really, I would just love to get into Sarah Lawrence! Like, hello? I'm not gonna settle for something discreet! I wanna be a known author when I grow up. I put on some grey jeggings, a grey top with a matching grey hoodie. Today is Abnegation day. It depends on my mood for all 'o the outfits. I slipped on my grey sneakers as well.

I quickly headed downstairs from my attic bedroom and went into my cosy kitchen.
'Hello, mom!' I grinned as I saw a woman with amazing blonde hair and sea green eyes wearing a tight pencil skirt and a white blouse.
'Hi, hun! Good morning. Your waffles are on the table.'
'Good, 'cause... I sure a, super hungry!'
'Head on over to the table!' She chuckled and waved her hand toward the dining table.
I grabbed the plate and started wolfing it down. I took out my phone to check the time. Good! Ten minutes early! I'm happy. Hmm..I've never really taken a picture of my drawings. Maybe I should do that! I always take picture of anything but my self. Then, post it on Instagram. My followers appreciate my work and my pics. I quickly snapped a picture and went to the living room.
'Bye mom! Say bye to dad from me. I'm going!'
'Bye honey!'
I headed out the door. I loved walking to school, as it was only five mins away. Soon enough, I reached school. I headed for my home room period classroom. I took a spot in the middle of the class so I can be back as well as front. I pulled out my copy of the Kane Chronicles series from Rick Riordan, one of my favourite authors.
'TTRRIIINNNGGG!!!'
The bell. Uh-oh. Gotta get ready for-
'Hey! Wassup! Missed-'
'I call dibs on that seat! It mi-'
'I hate scho-'
'You need to return back my jacke-'
Ugh. All the commotion in class. So annoying. I kept on reading my book until I felt some soft fingers covering my eyes.
'Alicia!'
'Right-ho, Becs!'
My best friend Alicia had brown hair and raven black eyes. She took a seat next to me. Both of us ran the school newspaper The Malloy Press. I was the Editor-In-Chief. Alicia was my assistant.
'Ok class! Quiet down. Find whatever seat is left.'
Our new teacher came in.
'Hello, my name is Ms.Roberts and I'm your homeroom teacher. I'll be taking attendance now.'
She droned on a bunch o' names and I didn't listen till my name was called.
'Present ma'am.'
She wrote something down and went on to the next person.
'Hi.'
'Ah! Hiya there Alex.' Alex is Alice's twin. Both of them are my best friends and Alex is in the football team. I played in the girls basketball team. When I was out in matches, Alice would take my place in having interviews to the famous players. Coach Wheaton said that the basketball team sucked until I came in. Yay!
'TRRIINNGG!!!'
I received my timetable just in time. Ha. Timetable just in time. I headed towards my locker, with five mins to spare before heading to my first class. Advanced Calculus. I did like it. 'Hey, Twins, what's your first class?' I called out to them, grabbing my thick book from the locker. I quickly walked down the hall with lots of people looking at me. Playing in the basketball team could be a pain in the ass. Bleugh. I quickly headed into my class to grab a seat in the front of the room so I can concentrate. Our teacher came in and explained the whole class to us, our curriculum, and our other special extra curricular maths classes. She then told us to open the textbook to page 16 and started explaining the theories and how to do the questions. She then told us to start doing the questions and she told that she will check with the answers towards the end of the class.
'So get started!' She seemed like an enthusiastic teacher and I smiled at her. I then turned my head toward my book and started solving the first problem.
' Excuse me? Can you help me with the third question?' Asked someone from my left.
I looked to my left. Oh gosh. Derek Colton. A famous rich boy, captain of the basketball team. Boys basketball team.
'Sure.'
I started explaining it to him. He nodded and I got back to my work. I completed the whole exercise in a matter of a few mins.
'I see Ms.Mitchel has completed her exercise. Can everyone hurry up as well?' Ms.Angleton said.
I smiled at her and continued to look out the window.
A few mins passed and some of the class was finished.
'I will now discuss answers. Check the board, kids.' Ms.Angleton said.
Yes! I got all answers correct! I'm happy.
'Oh, shit. Got five of 'em wrong. Damn.' I heard Derek mutter.
'Becca, Derek? Can the both of you stay in class for two mins after the bell rings?' The teacher looked at us.
'Sure.' Both of us nodded.
We kept on doing sums for twenty minutes or so and when I thought I was losing it, the bell rang.
'TRIINNGG!!!!'
The class emptied out, but me and Derek stayed behind.
'I've seen how Derek needs help, Becca. So I wanted to ask you if you were able to tutor Derek in any case? If that's okay with you?'
'Of course, fine. I'm fine with it.'
'Great. How about you Derek? Fine?'
'Yes. I'm fine with it.'
'Good. Plan when the both of you will get together to study. By the tests, I want Derek to have improved.'
'Yes ma'am.'
T he both of us went out of the class, exchanging phone numbers.
'Bye, bye.' I waved.
'Bye.'
I walked up to my locker, got out my timetable and checked the next class. Psychology. Great.
I rushed to the class, not wanting to be late. Phew. I'm early.
'Hello class, I'm Ms.Olga. I would like you to take these notes, please.'
I opened my notebook, took out my pen and looked at the board.
Bystander effect:
A psychological phenomenon in which someone is less likely to intervene in an emergency situation when other people are present and able to help when he or she is alone. See Kitty Genovese, case in which a young woman was brutally attacked within hearing of a dozen neighbours, but none of them called the police, each thinking someone else would do it.

Harsh.
We took a bunch of other notes and then I was saved by my night who was very loud.
'TRIIINNNGGG!'

A few hours later
Basketball practice over. I'm so happy. I walked home under the weight of my heavy school bag.
I opened up my notebook and finished my homework.
'Hello? Can I order some pizza? Thanks. Pepperoni would do good.'
I switched of my phone and took out The Hobbit. I read it until the pizza guy came over. I said my thanks and closed the door.
I gnawed on my scrumptious pizza and finished it. I rushed upstairs  to my attic bedroom and closed the door. My parents would come wayyy later. I collapsed into bed and fell into a nightmare where my fellow creatures were turtles and I was a turtle as well.
