"Here you go, Josh," said the lady with long blonde hair behind the counter.
Josh reached for the coffee and took it in his hand. "Thank you", he replied and gave her a warm smile and made eye contact, but hastily looked away. He hated making eye contact especially when he feels uncomfortable.Josh didn't know what it was that made him feel like this, he visited that coffee shop every day and practically knows the girl behind that counter. It was almost like a second home for him. He sat down by the nearest table and stared at his cup. The uncomfortable feeling Josh had was still bugging him and made his heart beat a thousand miles a minute.
He felt watched. Josh looked up from his coffee cup looked around the room which was quite full and met a pair of brown eyes looking back at him. He examined the pale face that was staring at him and tried to think if he recognized the man. He was sitting in the corner by alone by himself. He had dark brown hair, had a pretty skinny figure, and there were small circles under his eyes. His clothes looked expensive but the swag was strong. Josh wondered what a handsome man like him was doing here sitting alone.
In Columbus Josh knew everyone but at that moment he didn't recognize that face. What a fresh, new change.
Josh hated making eye contact but there was just something about this man's face that made him feel at peace, and his heart beat slowed down. They kept staring at each other until the stranger looked back at the newspaper in his hands. Josh looked away as well to not be seen as creepy, but still made small glances back at the guy.
He was flipping through his phone when he saw a shadow over him and the table. He looked up and saw the man who sitting in the corner towering over him. He was a lot cuter up close. The man parted his lips as if he was about to say something but nothing came out. Finally he said "Hello", with the sweetest and purest voice Josh had ever heard. The man continued, "I just uh, wanted to say hello. I saw you from my table in the corner and thought you looked... nice. My name is Tyler by the way." Tyler stuttered when he talked and Josh found that extremely attractive.
Josh was flattered that a cute guy like that was hitting on him and told Tyler to sit down with him. They talked for awhile and Josh had never clicked with anyone the way he did with Tyler. Eventually Josh wrote down his phone number on Tyler's napkin. Tyler got up and pushed in the chair and told Josh he would call him and winked before walking away. Josh blushed as he looked down at his cup again and went through their whole conversation in his head. He looked over at Tyler's table and saw him packing his stuff since he was about to leave. Tyler turned around and met Josh's eyes and smiled. Josh blushed even more and looked away for a second and looked back at Tyler's table. Tyler was gone.
