Emma was on stage, speaking to the crowd of people at the vigil when I walked into the crowd. I walked over to Audrey and she handed me a candle. I silently thanked her and looked to the stage.

Emma began to stutter and Noah took over as she raced off the stage. Before long, the candles were being lit and the moment of silence began. In my peripheral vision, I saw Emma running through the crowd towards the trees with fear filling her eyes. I was about to run after her but Audrey placed her hand on my shoulder, whispering something like 'she might just need some alone time.'

The next day, I woke up around 6:30am to run around the block and then still be ready for school at 8am sharp. 'This shall be my new routine' I thought as I pulled my newly brushed hair into a quick pony tail. I lightly tugged down my black gym shorts to better fit my legs and then walked out of my bedroom, my converse slightly making a 'thud' sound on the wooden floors.

'I should probably invest in real running shoes instead of getting injured' I thought as I ran down the steps of the front porch. And then starting a light jog down the sidewalk, the only light being the sun starting to rise over my suburban home.

"Oh..uh..hello" I say as I enter my house. "What are you doing here? That sounded a lot worse than what I had planned in my hea-"

"Dude, chill. I was gonna pick you up for school." My rambling was cut off by Audrey's smooth voice. After my run around the block, I went back to my house; planning on doing my makeup and re-brushing my hair then rush putting on clothes because time is never on my side. However, my plan hadn't panned out and now Audrey was standing in front of me, making my anxiety raise at the thought of how I looked; sweaty and gross with a lack of makeup to make myself look slightly better. "So.."

"Oh, I need to get ready" I say and begin to walk past her.

"Were you running?" She stops me with a light touch on my shoulder.

"Yeah, gotta practice running from the killer" I try to lighten the seemingly awkward mood that surrounds us and smile. "I'm gonna go change." I cough and swiftly turn on my heel and race back up the steps to my bedroom. 'Oh my god, it was never this difficult to produce words before, why now? Oh, right, because you have a crush on your best friend who's girlfriend that just died.'

I washed my face and put on some deodorant and perfume to rid of my B.O scent and then put on some makeup. I then quickly changed into some decent clothing [bippity-bop outfit at the top] (falling in the process) and then rushing out of my bedroom to meet Audrey at the bottom of the staircase.

"Hi" I say with a little smile.

"Hey" she replies with an identical smile. We then walk over to door and I grab my Dr Martens and quickly slip them on. "Where's your brother?"

"Probably at Will's house" I respond. "Or sleeping, either way he probably is going to show up late to school." I stand up and open the door for Audrey.
"Kay, lets go"

" 'Ight"
