The Clone Canary

Beach Day part 2

"Sonic, when Superboy sees you, he will faint on the spot" I blushed and threw my dress over the swim suit Artemis lent me.

"Can we just go?" I asked, still blushing and pushing up my sunglasses (A/n: The sunglasses in the picture are the one she's always had, not just for the beach day) She nodded and we headed to the beach.

"Alright, let's have some fun!" Kid Flash yelled as we stepped on the stand. Robin and Miss Martian joined him, throwing their stuff down and running for the water.

Aqualad and Artemis set their things down gently and laid down their towels before joining their friends. Superboy and I sat our towels beside each other. He just sat on the towel, watching everyone swim and splash each other.

"You okay?" I asked sitting down, cross one leg over the other. He nodded, not making eye contact. I stared at them. I wanted to join but I stayed with him. I tired to figure out why he didn't want to head in and cool over.

I sighed and laid on my back, an arm draped over my forehead. I felt the sun beating down on me, compared to staying underground and only heading out at night, it felt like heaven.

"You want me to bury you?" I opened a eye and looked at my target. What was he talking about?

"Bury me? In the sand?" I asked, catching on a bit. He nodded, smiling a little. I giggled and nodded. He started placing sand on me. It was actually kind of nice.

Megan came over and joined him. Within a few minutes I was buried in a mountain of sand. Then Robin bet Wally 20 dollars that I could break out. Wanting Robin to win I broke out eventually.

We all went in the water, Megan and Wally dragging me and Superboy along.  Everyone was splashing well we just stood there, the water up to our  waists.

Superboy looked nervous. "Are you sure your ok?" He shook his head. I took his hand and we walked back in the shallows, the water reached our knees. We sat on a big rock. "What's wrong?"

He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "I don't know how to swim" I stared at him. How did Cadmus not teach him that? They taught me and my sisters. I smiled and got back in the water, splashing Superboy a bit.

I held out my hand to him. "Come on, I'll teach you" He looked at my hand, then at my face. I flashed him a big smile. He smiled and grabbed it.

It took a while, but he was learning. The team soon realized what was happening and began to help. Wally and Robin weren't much help, but hey, they were trying. Artemis gave some tips, Megan say some words of encouragement, and Kaldur help me show him how to move his arms and kick his legs.

It was soon dark and we were having a barbecue. Me and Superboy were eating. "This has been fun Superboy, didn't know a beach could be this enjoyable"

He looked at me. "Conner"

I blinked. "Huh?"

"My name is Conner. Conner Kent" He smiled. I found myself smiling back. His name was a good one. He seemed happy. 'No Sonic, you can't start thinking like that now!' My mind stated to shout at me.

I looked around at the whole team. Everyone was smiling and laughing. Cadmus had told me that these were the bad guy and they were the good guys, but now, I'm starting to wonder if that's right?
