{Nikolai's POV}

It's been almost a year now, and she's still in the coma. She's moved, but hasn't moved more than a finger. I'm afraid that if she doesn't wake up soon, she might never wake up. I just want her  ack, that's all I want. She can't die. My sister already died, and that was hard enough for me.

"Everly, please wake up."

I'm still at gen hospital. I've been here for the pas eeek, haven't left her side. I never will.

I grabbed Everly's hand. "Squeeze my hand, Everly. Squeeze it. Now!"

Nothing happened. I got up, and went over to the door. I needed to take a breather. When I was done, I went back in the room, and Everly was awake. I rished to her, and took her hand.

"Mr. Pavlov?"

"Yes, I'm here. I'm here." I started crying.

"Are you ok?" She asked. "What are you doing here?" She looked at her hand. "What is this doing on my finger?"

I was confused. "Your engaged."

"To who?"

"Me." She didn't remember? "Don't you remember?"

Everly shook her head. "No. All I remember is you being my boss, and always yelling at me. I remember us not being in love." She took the ring off and handed it to me. "I'm sorry, I don't love you." She looked in front of her, right where I put her dresss. "That dress if very beautiful. Whoever wears it will look beautiful."

"Yeah. She will."

I walked out of the room. I was going to get her back. I don't care how many days, weeks, months, years it takes, I'm going to get her back. Everly is everything I have. She's my life, and she's gone. Literally. I was ready to start a life with her, and that's what I'll do.

I went to go visit my dad. I had to tell him. Maybe he could help.

"Nik," said my dad. "How's Everly?"

"She's gone," I said. I sighed, and sat on the couch. "I fell in love with Everly, and I proposed to her. A couple weeks later, she was in a coma. When she woke up, she didn't even remember that she was engaged. What's even worse is that she didn't love me anymore. Dad, I have to get her back, but I don't know how." I sighed. "I just can't believe that she.... I mean she has fucking amnesia. I know she didn't completely forget who I was, but she forgot the most important part of me. That I love her. All she knows is that I'm her shitty boss, and... please help me."

My father shook his head. "I can't help you. All I can do is give you advice, son. Everly is yours, not mine. You make her love you again. I know you can. If you got her to love you before, you can do it again."

I nodded. "Where do I start?"

"Just be yourself. Except don't be the boss she thinks you are."

I was going to have to be a nice person to Everly, but didn't she fall in love with me because I was rude? She liked me for who I was, and I'm not going to change that.

After talking to my father, I decided to go home and get Everly's stuff. I didn't know how I was going to explain to her everything that was going on. How she wanted to help me with my "condition", and how she moved in with me. There was no way she was going to believe me. I think it's better that she doesn't even know that any of this even happened.

When I got to her house, I rembebered that I didn't have a key. I had to do something. I couldn't just leave her stuff laying outside of her house.

"Everly? Hey, it's your boss. I'm at your house right now -don't ask why- and I need a key. Do you have a spare key around somewhere." I paused while she was talking. "It's a long story, just do you have one?"

She told me that it was under a rock by her doorstep. I lifted the rock, and opened the door. I found he really room, and dropped her stuff off. Before leaving, I saw this picture of her when she wasn't little. She was wearing this princess costume. It looked like it was Halloween. She looked so beautiful as a little girl, and she hasn't lost the beauty.

While I was looking at a picture, this lady came in. "Who are you?" She asked me.

"Oh I'm Everly Christensen's boss. My name's Nik Pavlov."

"I'm Everly's mother. My name's Laurel. I didn't know that Everly worked for you."

She didn't look like Everly. She was white, but then I remembered that Everly was adopted.

I was confused. "She didn't tell you?"

"No. Everly and I have never had a good relationship. We never got along, and when she was getting older, she started to despise me more and more. She was disappointed with me, and me with her. She moved out when she got the chance, and we've spoken in 8 years."

I should've known this. I suddenly feakt bad for Everly and he really mother. How could they live like this? Not talking to her mother for 8 years. I couldn't imagine going through this.

"I'm so sorry, Mrs. Christensen."

It's fine. We both should've tried harder to deal with the problems."

Everly being adopted may be one of the reasons why they didn't get along. I know that it would be one of my reasons. "I'm willing to talk to your daughter. Only if would like me to."

"That would be nice, but do you think she'd want to talk to her boss about such a personal thing?"

"Yes. Because I'm more than her boss. I can make her talk. I'll see you later, Mrs. Christensen."

I left, and got in the car, and rushed to the hospital. For some reason, talking to Everly's mother finally made me confident that I could win her back.
