Eye of Raldos

I was walking home from the shopping center with my sister Tania when something shiny in the grass caught my eye, it was a greenish-blue orb. I picked it up and Tania started asking what it was, I just dismissed it and said that we should go 'home' because it was getting pretty dark. Tania and I are orphans. We were the only ones that survived when a fire burnt our parent's house down. The firefighters rescued us from the building first but before they could rescue our parents the house collapsed. There wasn't anything unique about our family, or strange, our family was just your everyday type of family. That was 5 years ago, I was 9 at the time and Tania was 7, now I'm 14 and Tania is 12. We now live at an orphan home with some other kids but it isn't that bad. We still learn things in the home like your basic knowledge, so English and Maths and all that other stuff.

Tania and I got home at around 7:00pm and we went into our room. As Tania took a shower I brought out the orb and ran it through my fingers, I could swear there was a voice coming from the orb and I didn't notice this before but there was a swirling pattern inside it. The voice was speaking in a foreign language I couldn't identify. Tania came out of the shower right after and I put the orb away. I had a strange feeling that something or someone was watching me when I was holding the orb. Tania just asked what the orb was, I brought it out and showed her, it didn't seem to have the same effect on her as it did me. All she said was "It sounds like it's speaking to me." I just asked "Can I have that back now?" and she gave it back to me. Then she asked "Where did you get that?" I just replied "I found it in the grass when we were walking back here," after she said "We should go eat dinner now." So we walked out to the main room where everyone sits and we got our dinner. After dinner when we walked back to our room we decided that we would put the orb inside a drawer next to our bunk bed.

During the night I couldn't sleep well, I dreamt I was back in the fire and the house was collapsing, my parents were safe outside but I couldn't find Tania. I heard a cry for help that sounded like her but I couldn't see her in the room. I ran out of the room where I saw my sister crouching underneath a table, I urged her out and we tried finding a way out. The house was collapsing even quicker. I looked up and saw a block of wood starting to fall. The sound of the fire engine's sirens flooded my ears. All I could smell was the suffocating smell of smoke as I saw the flames all around me licking at the walls and wood supports. I saw a tall dark figure in the room, the way it moved made it look like it was almost as if it was floating around. Right then the wood fell on me. I braced myself for the impact of the wood but right at that moment I woke from my dream. Sweat hung from me and stuck on my clothes. My limbs felt like lead, I couldn't move them at all. Getting out of bed was tedious because I had to get the feeling back into my legs before I could move. When I finally managed to move out of the bedsheets, I saw that Tania already woke up and got out of bed. The time was 8:15 when I checked. I groggily checked on the orb to see if it was still there but it was gone. I snapped to my senses and quickly changed out of my pyjamas into my other clothes. I raced down the corridor to the breakfast area and saw my sister. I ran up to her and quickly told her that the orb was gone. She calmly told me that she took it to keep it safe and that nobody would take it since nobody but us knew where we hid it. I almost shouted at her saying that she shouldn't take it again even if she was trying to keep it safe because I wouldn't know.
