Slowly I open my eyes, but quickly shut them again as the dimly lit room seemed to blind me temporally. Trying again, I open my eyes slowly and look around to dark room. Where was I? All I remember is-wait, my name is Elena Gilbert and I'm a doppelganger, what is a doppelganger?
Suddenly memories came flashing in. A wedding, Kai placing a spell on me and Bonnie. But, I could only be awake if Bonnie died. I can't believe this..how long has it been? Where is everyone?
I notice the room was actually a storage unit, the only light coming from a crack under the door. I decide that if my friends weren't coming to me I'd go to them, opening the storage unit I see a sign that says New York City. Why am I in New York City?!
Okay so getting back to Mystic Falls will be harder than planned. I search for any way that I could contact any of my friends. I see a store up ahead called Berry's and continued walking to see a man outside the shop. I asked him if I could use his phone and he nodded, saying "of course sweetie."
Ew. That's not weird or anything. I smiled sweetly at him and dialed Damon's number, praying that he'd answer. The voice message said that the number wasn't reachable hmm..weird.. but I thanked the man and gave him back his phone. Really, that's great. How am I supposed to get ahold of Damon now?
A sudden burning filled my throat and I gasped in shock. That could only mean one thing. I was hungry for blood, I was still a vampire. But how was that possible? I took the cure! I was going to be human! Have a family..I need to find my friends, now.
Finally, I decide to just compel someone and ride back to Mystic Falls myself. The woman repeated what I said and walked away absently as I started the car and headed back to Mystic Falls.

Hours later I park infront of the Salvatore Boarding house. I was about to enter the house but stop in my tracks as I see Damon through the window, god he still looks so handsome. What I didn't expect to see was Bonnie going up and kissing him. What the hell? How is she even alive? If I'm here, she's supposed to be dead, this can't be possible.
Slowly, I walk up to the door and knocked anyway, ignoring the heartbreak tugging at my heart. I just want to know what Is going on, and how this is possible. Damon answers the door and looks at me confusedly before saying, "sorry but I think you have the wrong house miss."
I look at him in shock. "What Damon? It's me. It's Elena!" How could he not remember me? I'm supposed to be the love of his life and him mine. How could he pretend he doesn't remember me?
Bonnie walks to the door just then and says..
