"Look Tara... You just have to learn how to deal with it." Brooklyn said. I turned to her scowled, and looked away.

"Brooklyn, you just don't get my need for a boyfriend, I mean you've had one since the ninth grade!" I said. "I mean, just LOOK at Jeanine. She looks miserable without a boyfriend!" i said flailing my arms as i spoke.

"First of all," Brooklyn said as she turned to me,"Jeanine is miserable because her cat ran away, and her parents are getting a divorce!" I then heard Jeanine quietly say,

"Guys can we please not talk about this right now..." Brooklyn glanced over my shoulder and then countined speaking to me,

"And second, stop waving your arms, you look like a pigeon being electrocuted." Jeanine snickered and we walked onto my porch while i fiddled with my keys, looking for the right one

"Either way," Brooklyn continued, "Having a boyfriend is a waste of time."

"So dump him." I said.

"What?" Brooklyn asked confused.

"Dump your boyfriend, you know, if he's such a waste of time."

Brooklyn stared at me for a moment, turned around and walked off the porch. So much for girl's weekend. "I guess it's just you and me Jeanie."

"I'd rather not, also, i don't like the nickname Jeanie, and you know it." I heard Jeanine whisper.

And then Jeanine went and I was left all alone on my rickety old porch.
