i always seemed to have paint stuck underneath my fingernails.
something that you hated.
you said it made my hands look dirty.
that it made me look dirty.
but what you didn't realize was that art can never be dirty.
it can only be beautiful and bold and exhilarating and it can also be dark and gloomy and heart wrenching, but that's okay.
because art is supposed to make you feel some sort of way.
but apparently i didn't seem to make you feel anything other than
disgust and hatred.
