I took a small breath as I stood in front of the cream colored medicine cabinet. I placed my small hand on the too-big knob of the door, jarring it open to reveal all it's contents. I grabbed a small orange and white pill bottle that was labeled strictly for my mother. Use by other's were strictly prohibited. I scoffed because it was left here. Here in the open where anyone could take them. Anyone. But that anyone happened to be me.The ventilator pumped up and down. The noise echoed through the tiny hospital room. Caleb sat in a chair. Head in hands, silently praying to a God in which he did not believe in for just the slightest sign that Lani would be okay.
"You've been here all night." Lani's mother rested a hand on Caleb's shoulder.
He shook her away, telling her that he is fine and doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon.
I walked down the bumpy sidewalk and across the bumpy road all the way to hell. The red doors taunted me as I pushed them open. Kids swarmed the halls, leaving no room for me to breath. I was going to collapse if I didn't get any air. I swayed back and forth until I did fall. Right into the arms of a smaller boy. A boy who smiled softly at me and told me that I had to be more careful. He stared at me with his beautiful brown eyes. Lights danced across them, causing them to glitter. I knew then that I had just met the love of my life.
"Caleb." Lani's mother persisted at the young boy. "You need rest."
He shook her away, once more. "No. I can't leave her like this. Not alone."
"I'm here. Just go get some rest. You have been here since it happened."
The word it rang through Caleb's brain. Hitting off one side and zinging to the other. Caleb looked up at the women and focused his eyes onto hers, "This is my fault."
"Don't say things like that." She sighed and left the room to go get more coffee.
Caleb stares at Lani's seemingly life-less body. Her dark hair was tangled and messed up. Her eyes, her beautiful blue eyes were not able to be seen. Caleb pondered at the thought of her dying. Actually dying. The thought made him sick to his stomach. He quickly moved across the room to the closet trashcan and hugged it to his small chest.

So, I am writing on a phone now... It is very hard but yeah anyways. The chapters are going to be short. It is meant to be that way. Thanks for reading ❤
