Now What?

She isn't feeling comfortable with what just happened, but continues to make dinner. When dinner is finally over, they sit next to each other and stare off.

Her thoughts are way different then his. She is thinking about what she did wrong. She's thinking about what could have made him be so rough with her. He's daydreaming about sitting on the beach with a beer in his hand.

About 15 minutes into the silence she says "Why?" It takes him a moments to process what she's getting at, but realizes it's about what happened earlier.

His response is " I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me."

She looks down at the floor and says "Oh okay. It's okay"

He states that it's not okay. He knows he should have never laid hands on her. He was raised better than that. He goes to give a hug, but she jumps away. She's scared that he's going to hurt her again.

He says to her " I'm not going to hurt you again. I promise. Can I please touch you? Can I hug you?"

She thinks about his questions for a minute or so, and comes to the decision that its okay. He doesn't want her to be scared of him. He wants to be able to touch her without her response to be jumping away.

She looks at him and says she loves him. He says it back with sadness stained to his eyes. She could her he crackling in his voice, as if he was about to cry.

She slides over to him and gives him the biggest bear hug. She kisses his forehead, and gets up.

As she exits the room the only thing going through is mind is 'Now what's going to happen?'
