(Y/n pov)

i put all my clothes into a drawer and walk around the apartment. It was beautiful with a full kitchen, laundry room, and even a balcony. I turned on my laptop, and waited for it to load. As i was waiting I walked over to the kitchen to find it was empty.  So, i walked outside the apartment (after grabbing my key and my purse) and walked to the store i saw as i was passing by.

As i walked around the store, i grabbed things that i would need.

Bread, lunch meat, lettuce, milk, cereal, apples and bananas.

I walked up to the cashier, bending down so i could get my items and put them on the counter. As i waited for them to be scanned i looked at the magazine rack. Nothing interesting caught my eyes, so i paid and left the store. As i was walking back to the apartment i saw a small girl, maybe 6, crying. I walked over to her and she backed away.

I crouched down so i was her height.

"hi there, sweetheart. What's wrong?" i asked, mustering up the softest voice i could.

"please, don't hurt me, please please please" she replied. shaking from fear or from crying.

"what happened to you?" i asked, looking at her.

"My mommy, she... she's gone!"

I look at her, softly frowning when an idea comes to mind.

"what does she look like? i can help you find her"

she looked at me with hope in her once fear filled eyes.

"She is tall, and pretty. with um.. Green eyes... and um... Blue.."

"blue what?" i ask

"hair. Bright blue hair, like the sky!. she has a nice voice too." she says brightening up at the mention of her mother.

"do you know her name?"

"mommy!"

"alright i'll help you find her. I need to do something first okay?" i say giggling at the small girl.

"okay."

we walked to the apartment, and i dropped off my things, turned off my computer, and turned off the lights. locking the door and taking the child outside. i asked her where she last saw her mother.

"the park!" she said

Then she scampered off with me trailing behind.

(Time skip*)

after what seemed like hours though only minutes. we arrived at the park, and the girl instantly went to the swings. I was about to call out but remembered i totally forgot to ask her name.

"hey, hun, what's your name?"

"tell you mine if you tell me yours!"

"Okay" i said agreeing. What harm could it do?

"my name's Ali!"

"Well, nice to meet you Ali, my name is (y/n)."

We walked to the swings and Ali jumped on one and kicked her feet trying to swing, but failing, pouting and asking if i could.

i nodded and responded with a quick "yep" and started pushing her.

I stopped pushing her and looked around seeing if i could spot her mother.  I had no luck so i just watched the girl, hoping her mom would come before the darkness set in.
