I walked into class just in the nick of time. Our teacher is really picky about lateness, so even if your hand is opening the door when the bell rings, you have to get a tardy slip. I sit down at my desk and open my Clash of Warriors book. I had gotten really deep into the story when I finally heard my teacher, Ms. Sullivan. "Rachel... I've called on you four times already." "Huh? What?" I stuttered. "What do you want for lunch?" said Ms. Sullivan, sounding slightly annoyed. "Oh! Uh... Two hot dogs and a chocolate milk, please." I had just started reading again when Tara and Madeleine walked into the room carrying tardy slips. I waved at them. Tara waved back. Mads just made a goofy face at me. I picked up my book and started to read again."I just don't know if I can save you in time..." said Gryffin. I leaned closer to the book, as if I could go through the pages into the world of Peregrine and stay there."That's okay..." Sarah said.
