Do you know the quote 'Don't judge a book by a cover?' Well, let me tell you, just because I have alot of tattoos and piercings does not mean that I'm a monster!

Let me introduce myself, my name is Midnight Mason and I'm 18 years old. I know weird name, right? Well, that's what you get when your parents are drunk when naming you.

My mom left my dad for some reason, I don't know I was just three. Then, my dad started going to bars and coming home drunk. He started abusing me then, he raped me at 16, leaving me pregnant.

That's when everything started. Now, because of the way I look, no one would dare mess with me, except my best friend, Zayn Malik and my 2-year old daughter, Darcy Mason.

Chapter 1

"Mummy, mummy wake up," Darcy yells, trying to wake me up. You see, I taught Darcy how to talk correctly and I'm really lucky she's a fast learner.

"Mummy's up birdy," I say using her nickname. I then groan realizing it's Monday and I have to go to school.

I sit up. "What do you want for breakfast, birdy?"

"Pancakes," Darcy exclaims, bouncing up and down, her blue eyes lighting up.

"Ok, just let me shower, then I'll call Ms. Baxter over and make you pancakes," I tell her, going over to my closet and picking out a black T-shirt and black ripped skinny jeans with my black All-star converses.

"Ok mummy," Darcy replies, walking out of my room and into hers.

Right now, I'm in Social Studies and my teacher is going on about some project when I hear something that catches my attention. "...Midnight Mason and Harry Styles." Huh? I'm paired with the nerd? Well, he is sorta cute.

"Now go and sit with your partners," Mr. Johnson says boredly. I watch as students scurry towards their partners. Some lucky and some not-so lucky. I notice a curly mop of hair beside me and I turn towards him.

"Hi, y-you don't h-have to w-work on the p-project, I-i'll work on it a-and p-put your n-name on it," Harry stutters, fixing his glasses and looking down.

"What? No! I won't let you do the project by yourself, I'm not that kind of person," I exclaim looking at him.

"Oh," He says blushing.

"Now. Your place or mine?," I ask him.

"Well, we could go to yours," He says, looking at me and not stuttering.

"Ok then, see you after school," I say getting up and heading to the cafeteria. I can honestly say lunch is my favorite subject. I walk in and head to the lunch line. As I pay my lunch, I look up to see Harry sitting by himself, reading a book. I make my way over to him and plop down. Harry looks up, startled.

"Sup Harry," I say, eating my sandwich.

"H-hi Midnight," Harry stutters. "W-why a-are you sitting h-here?"

"Well, Harry, you were sitting here all by yourself, so I thoguht you might want some company?" I grin, making Harry smile and blush. He has dimples! That's so cute!

"Why would you sit here," Harry asks dumbfounded. "Nobody wants to sit here, well except for you!"

"You seem nice," I tell him honestly. "Why wouldn't anyone want to sit with you?!"

"It's because I'm a nerd," He tells me, sighing. "I'm bullied because I'm smart and because of the way I dress."

"Well, nobody messes with me because of the way that I look," I explain, finishing my lunch and earning a nod from Harry.

"Well, that's true," Harry states sadly.

"I can help you. Doesn't anyone know the quote 'Don't judge a book by it's cover'?! I mean, they have no right to judge people on the way they look! We all have feelings too you know!"

Harry looks at me amazed. "That was deep." I start laughing. After a second, he starts laughing, too.

"Well, I have to go," I say, waving at him. "See ya after school!"

"See ya later, love," Harry blushes. What is up with this boy and blushing?!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

BBRINGG. Finally, school is over! I go outside and see a group of boys, surrounding someone and punching him. I then see a mop of curly hair. HARRY! I run over and pull the boys off of him. The boys recognize it's me and their faces instantly pale.

"Listen and listen good. You will leave Harry alone or else got it," I spit. They nod shakily.

"WHAT," I yell, venom lacing my words, erm word.

"G-got it," They stutter.

"Good," I say, letting them go. They run off-looking like scared little puppies-stumbling over each other and tripping, many, many times. I turn towards Harry and gasp. I mean, I was abused, but not this bad!

I pick him up and carry him to my flat. What? I used to box. No biggie. Once I get in, I take him to my bathroom, getting out of my First Aid kit. I grab a towel and wet it. I turn towards Harry and clean his wounds. He flinches.

"I'm sorry I didn't get there fast enough," I break the silence, bandaging his wounds.

He shrugs, as if saying "No big deal."

"Harry, I'm being serious," I tell him, putting my kit up and standing in front of him. I don't know why I'm going to tell him this, but here I go.

"I know what you're going through. I was abused by my dad. Ever since my mum left, when I was three. He would go to bars and come home drunk. He would hit me and every time he did, he would say it's my fault that she died. On my 16th birthday, he took it too far, instead of getting me a present like a normal parent would he.....he r-raped me! And then I found out I was pregnant, so I packed up all my shit and left. I ran as far away from him as possible, and now I have a 2-year old daughter, named Darcy." My body shook violently from my tears, I could tell Harry was shocked, although I was shocked when he pulled me into a hug.

He then pulls back, wiping my tears and asks. "Now, when can I meet this Darcy?"
