Sorry for the long wait guys. I think we can almost all relate (if you're in school) that right now it sucks. All the end of semester assignments, tests, and whatnot. Hopefully this update makes up for it and this story is coming to an end soon, but don't worry! I have plenty of stories I want to make and I hope you guys check those out too.

If you didn't already know, I'm working on another story You Will Be the Death of Me. It has a prologue and one chapter so far, so check that out because that might be my main story after ETAG is over.

Enjoy!

Chapter 20

All I could feel were eyes on me. The silence feels almost deafening after the altercation. I could only keep my eyes on the silver blade coated in my blood. My fingers cramped at the pressure of holding the sword, but I didn't dare release my grip in case Sabby wasn't finished.

Richard and Alex came down from the rubble, as if they weren't trying to rip each other to ribbon. Their large swings moving gracefully behind them.

"Sabathiel, release the weapon." Alex ordered as he strode over to us with Richard at his heels.

Sabby looked reluctant, but did as he was ordered and the blade clattered to the floor between us. I winced a little as the weapon slid out of my fingers, but upon closer inspection, my hands were already healed with no scarring.

I almost jumped through the roof as Richard's warm hands cupped my shoulders, avoiding the massive things behind me.

I don't even want to look.

Richard's touch felt as soft as ever as he spoke into my ear, so only I could hear him. "Donny, did you know you were dead?" He asked calmly. Probably to not freak me out, but too late for that!

I vigorously shook my head and felt trembles go through my body. "I-it's not possible. Is it?" It sounded more like a plea than a legit question as I turned to face Richard. His lips pulled into a thin line as he carefully studied me.

Alex rudely cleared his throat to catch our attention. "I didn't count on him already being dead, but that's why I brought him here." He held both of our attentions, but I could feel Richard stiffen beside me.

"Why the hell would you kill Donovan?!" Richard growled and his grip on my shoulders tightened as his claws elongated. I winced and he relaxed enough to not stab me.

Alex's face just grew more and more wicked. He acted as if he's talking down to a bunch of children as he strolled over with his weapon clinging against his thigh. "It's simple. The prophecy." He stopped right in front of us and Richard and I shared glances.

We turned back to him to see if he was kidding or not. When it was clear he wasn't, we looked back at each other and shared confused looks. Alex frowned down at us. "You seriously have no idea what I'm talking about?" He scoffed and flipped his hair behind his back. "Figured King Maxwell wouldn't culture any of his street rats." I knew that insult was directly mainly towards me and I just want to claw his eyes out with a rusty nail.

"No, I'm afraid we street rats have more important things to do than hold a grudge for fifteen years and plot revenge like a Disney villain." Richard retorted. I stared at him in slight disbelief that he even knows what Disney is.

Alex's eyes narrowed and he dramatically snapped his fingers and Sabby was at his side with a chair for him to perch his flat butt in.

Oh yeah, I went there.

"Well gather then children, because this prophecy is going to be what gets our world back before your father destroyed it."

I glanced up at Richard and his face was hard as stone, but with some tugging on his sleeve, he sat down beside me. Alex smirked, probably at seeing us both at his feet, but he continued.
