Bangs and colourful sprinkles of light fill the pitch black sky. Ohh the joys of firework night. Having annoying couples and friendship groups gather together for a sparkling time.
I sit at my dorm window looking at the bright colours emerge with the stars, with a blanket covering my freezing body and a hot chocolate in my shaking hands. If it wasn't for my poxy radiators I wouldn't be covered with this woolen blanket.
Wandering over to the sink, there was a knock on my door. Not too loud but not to quiet and in a rhythmic sound. I plop my cup into the sink and walk my to the dorm door with my blanket still wrapped around me. I unlocked the door and opened it a little so that only my head could peep through.
"I just moved into the dorm opposite you and I would just like to formally introduce myself." This black haired boy stands in front of me with a gummy smile that shows all his teeth.
"Oh right. Well..hi." I say awkwardly about to shut the door. Not being funny but I'm trying to keep as much heat in as possible.
"Wait!" He stops the door from closing with his foot. I open the door fully and take in what was stopping me from getting back to my pathetic sad little life. But before I could look at him completely, he wondered off back into his dorm room.
A couple minutes later he came back out and had a present in his arms. The shape was kind of like that Quality Street chocolate jar you get at Christmas, but it was wrapped in beige gift paper and a nude colour ribbon that was embracing the paper.
"Here," he hands the gift over to me. I extend my arms to grab it but somehow I feel guilty for taking it. If it's chocolates, they will be gone in two minutes.
"Don't feel guilty about taking them, they're like a neighbourly warming gift," damn, can he read my mind or something?
"I'm Min Yoongi. I'm going to be studying here and I hope we can be..." He looks at me up and down.
"Friends." He reconnects with my eyes and gives that gummy smile again.
"Okay. Thank you." I shut the door on him and this time it fully closes. What else am I supposed to say? 'Oh hey there, did you want to come in to my freezing cold dorm and drink hot chocolate?' Nah, I didn't think so either. He's a complete stranger. I am not risking my life for some guy to murder me thank you very much.
