Black Mountain

On one mountain, nothing ever got done because there wasn't any light. However at one time, there must have been light, because there were buildings, houses and factories that made things. But now they had all shut down because the employees kept bumping into each other. The sky was always dark, so everyone was constantly sleepy, and everyone wasn't very smart because no one could read. The people on the mountain complained and complained to the king's messengers, but the king never heard because no one could find the castle in the dark.

It was quite dangerous to live there because, after all, it was a mountain. And if you live on a mountain where there's no light, you have a tendency to fall off it a lot. It was even difficult to have a proper ceremony for those who had passed on because there were no candles and who could find a shovel?

One day a petty thief named Abner was running away from some local authorities and thought the mountain would be a great hideout. When he got there he hid behind a house. Soon he realized it was pointless hiding because no one could see him anyway.

He ventured out into the street where people were bumping into him which was annoying so he took out a candle and a match to light his way. An old lady fainted! A small child screamed! They had never seen each other before and didn't know what to do.

He was confused. "How could you people live like this?" he asked. "How could you make anything or do anything without light?" so he had an idea. Being an expert thief, he decided to go back to the town he was just in and get as many candles and lanterns as he could pilfer.

So he did, and the people on Black Mountain were very happy. However, when they looked down from atop their beautifully lit mountaintop, they saw the town below then was in total darkness.
