Hinata ran as fast as she could, tears cascading down her face. She didn't know where she was running, and frankly she didn't care right now. Her lungs were screaming at her and her sobs weren't making breathing any easier. After what felt like an hour, she finally stopped at a grave yard. She sat down by a tree that bordered the site. Hinata placed her head in her hands and once again started to sob. She trembled, unable to contain her sadness and disappointment in herself any longer. She didn't know how many hours passed as she sat there but it seemed to rain even harder.
The Hyuga froze, terrified as she heard footsteps and puddles splash behind her. She was too afraid to look back. The person was in her blindspot anyways. Suddenly she felt much drier and she realized that the rain was no longer hitting her. Hinata looked up, curious. Her eyes widened when she saw a man. He looked much older than her. He had dark onyx eyes, under which were long, pronounced tear-troughs, he had jet black hair that was pulled back in a ponytail and his face, which was wet due to the rain, was framed with damp centre parted bangs that extended to his chin.
Hinata raised her finger to her lips as she often did. This man...he looks alot like Sasuke.... Hinata thought to herself but didn't dare voice her opinion.
"Why are you crying? Have you lost someone recently?", the man questioned, his earlier assumptions of the girl crying were presumed correct as he saw water still leaked from her eyes despite the rain no longer hitting her.
"N-no n-nothing l-like that" hinata responded.
"Then what troubles you?", he questioned. That was a young Hyuga girl. Now what was a Hyuga heiress doing here, crying at the Uchiha compounds graveyard?
"I-I shouldn't say", Hinata responded almost immediately.
"Please indulge me", he insisted. He really had nothing better to do.
"I-I......my father thinks I am to weak to be the heiress of my clan and so he he named my younger sister to lead the clan instead, but not before disowning me from the clan!", Hinata sobbed even harder.
The raven's eyes widened. He and this girl's roles could easily have been reversed if he had been less of a prodigy. He had no doubt that his father would have done the same thing this girl's father had.
"My father often had high hopes for me", the dark eyed man mused aloud.
"And what happened?" Hinata asked.
"Well when it truly mattered most, when it came down to it. I defied him. When he needed me most, I let him down. And in his eyes and the eyes of my younger brother I was a prodigy. But I guess none of that really mattered at all", he said while looking away.
Hinata's shoulders slumped. If this man couldn't do it, and he was a prodigy, then how could she? The man noticing the young ravenette's discomfort, so he quickly spoke again.
"But I believe that you will be there when your father needs you the most", he assured her.
"What do you mean?" Hinata asked.
"You and I are opposites. Which means you will do what I could not and be there for your father despite his beliefs. I believe you can do it", he explained, it made her want to believe every word he said.
A twig was snapped and Sasuke could be seen walking with some flowers before he kneeled in front of a grave in the middle.
"I-I have to go. Please remember what I told you, young Hyuga".
"Hinata", she instantly corrected.
"My name is Hinata", she stated turning to the man.
"Goodbye Hinata", he said quietly before walking off.
"Hey wait! I never got your name!", Hinata exclaimed getting up and turned around.
"My name is Itachi. Itachi Uchiha. Please don't tell Sasuke I came here", Itachi said before walking off, crows scattering.

Years later, on an equally rainy day, the Konoha Twelve gathered around the dead body of Itachi Uchiha. Naruto clenched his fist and walked off, pissed that once again he had missed Sasuke. Hinata looked down at Itachi's fallen form. She shut his eyelids and shed a single tear. Hinata was the only one there who did so.
