I opened my eyes slowly, the bright light of the sun temporarily blinding me as I rolled over to face my blaring alarm clock.
6:01 am.
Groaning and taking a deep breath, inhaling the stale air that floated in my bedroom, I climbed out of bed and trudged to my bathroom.
Staring at my reflection in the mirror my lips turned down in a frown of disgust before I picked up my tooth brush and squirted toothpaste onto it, then began to brush my teeth.
My hair was a nest and my eyes had dark circles beneath them due to lack of sleep, my movements had become mechanical and robotic over the last week or two.
"Sweetheart! Are you awake?" my mother yelled from the bottom of the stairs, opening my mouth I let out a groan, and once hearing it she went back to cooking breakfast.
Finished, I shuffled to my bedroom and tried to tame my messy hair, before giving up and searching for clothes.
What to wear today, hmm....black, black, black...oh! Black sounds nice.
Pulling out from the depths of my clothes, I tugged on a Black Veil Brides shirt over my chest, then a black and white striped jacket, and finished my look off with ripped black skinnies that had chains pulled through the belt loops.
I slipped my feet through socks and my old red Converse, before grabbing my backpack and my iPhone, then went downstairs.
Seeing my family in the kitchen, I sit down in my spot at the table and grabbed a slice of toast, slathering a bit of butter on it.
"Juliette, would you like some coffee?" My dad looked at me from over the rims of his glasses, offering a to go cup half filled with coffee.
"Yes please."
Placing the steaming cup in front of me, my father smiled a little before going back to watching the news on the tv by the dining room.
Dumping four packets of Splenda into the coffee, I then filled the cup to the brim with milk, mixing the contents with a spoon before licking it clean.
I liked my coffee with mostly milk so it wasn't bitter, while Romeo would always drink his coffee black with only one packet of sugar.
Romeo...
I shook my head and glanced at the clock, seeing that it was already 6:35 and it took me half an hour to get to school, I had about 50 minutes before school started.
"I'm off, thanks for the breakfast. Bye mom, bye dad."
I grabbed my coffee and my backpack, then walked out the front door, heading towards my bus at the end of the street.
Keeping my head down to block the wind from freezing my face, I gripped my steaming cup of joe and speed walked the rest of the way.
Finally reaching my bus which was just about to pull away, I climbed on board and grabbed the nearest empty seat by the bus driver, then popped my headphones into my ears whilst balancing the cup on my knees.
The time on the bus flew by while I listened to Bring Me The Horizon, Get Scared, and whatever else came up on my iPhone.
Finally reaching school, the bus pulled to a stop and I jumped out of my seat and my feet hit the concrete before anyone realized it was time to get off.
Walking down the bus ramp and towards the school courtyard, I threw away my finished coffee, then glanced at the spot where Romeo would stand to wait for my bus.
My heart ached and I looked away, pulling my hood over my head and pushed myself to go to my locker.
"Juliette! Wait up!"
