Together

For Luke

I walked into the house and ran straight for my room. I locked my door and layed on my bed. I was so emotional with what was all happening. To avoid awkwardness tommoroe I called luke's mom.

"Hello?" she spoke softly.

"Hey mrs Benett." I coughed.

"Kayla!." she happily shouted.

"So about tommorow, I will be there." I spoke.

"oh great, we miss you Kendall always talks about you." she revealed. Kendall was Luke's nine year old sister.

"well got to go, see you tommorow." I let out.

"ok see you then, bye." we hung up and I staired at the ceiling until I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in." I shouted. It was Cynthia, what did she want? She stood at my door for a minute before speaking up.

"Your dad told me about last night." she spoke up. I rolled my eyea.

"I told him not to yell at you because this isn't the first time Keirsten has drank. I'm sorry he yelled at you." I sat as when she finished

"don't be, its not your fault." she looked me in the eyes.

"I'm glad we are a family." she said .

"me too..." I huffed. She gave me a hug and went back downstaires. I didn't need her taking up for me I can handle my dad. I layed back on my bed and sighed, ugh this family is to much. 

I ignored my dad when he shouted up the steps that dinner was done, I wasn't in the mood to eat.

~~ next day~~

I put my necklace on and pulled my hair out of my face. I slipped my heals on and walked downstaires I have my dad a kiss on the cheek before leaving the house. I got in the car and drove to the Benett's. After I parked the car I grabbed my bag and went inside. I wasnt surprised when I was hugged instintly by Kendall.

We all sat down as the last of the people came, I talked to Mrs. Benett about the family.

I had noticed Harry wasn't there yet but I didn't say anything. I heard Mrs. Benett squel when the front door open, I turned to see who it was and it was my boyfriends Harry. Mrs.Benett ran upto him and took him in her arms, seemed like she'd never let go. They whispered small talk then Harry walked over to me giving me a kiss. We got curiouse looks from Luke's family exspecialy his mom.

When the ceremony started i  didnt speak, i sat next to Harry quiet.

"i would like to thank all of you for coming, i know Luke meant alot to all of us." I watched as she got teary.

"Luke had so many great friends, Thank you Kayla for always being there for him." I lost, I felt as tears slipped.

"Thank you Harry for having his back and taking care of my little boy." i heard Harry cough out feeling uncomfortable. Mrs. Benett walked over to us and handed me a picture. It was of Me and Luke, we went on vacation that summer to florida. She handed Harry a necklace that had a bear claw on it, it brought him to tears. He got up and walked out of the house, I thanked Mrs. Benett and followed him. He was leaning over the railing with his hands over his face. I rubbed his back and kissed his cheek, he turned around and took me in his arms.

"I'm so glad we could do this together." he held out the necklace. I have him a confused look, what was so special about the necklace.

"It was luke's, he wore it everytime we would do something crazy. It was his good luck charm." he wiped away the streaming tears. I looked hime in the eyes and met his lips with mine.

"We did this for Luke." I whispered as I pulled away. He shook his head.

"For Luke."
