Phil barged into Dan's room, "Get ready you spork we're going out," he sang happily throwing rose petals at Dan. "Phil, wha-what are we doing, where are we going?" Dan asked in confusion as he looked at Phil, curiosity burning through his expression. "It's a surprise silly goose," he laughed pecking Dan's nose and ruffleing his hair. Dan let out a soft "ugh" as he fixed his hair and grabbed some clothes to change into.

......
Phil pulled him down the stairs and into a taxi that was waiting outside their apartment. "When are you going to tell me where we are going?" Phil chuckled, "When we get there silly, it's your birthday, it's a surprise." Dan huffed and crossed his arms, pouting. "Oh come on Danny, baaaaaabbbbeeeeee," Phil pouted back, nudging Dan with his shoulder. Dan let through a small smile and looked at his amazing  boyfriend, he loved him so much, how he was always there for him, and dragging him on new adventures. Without Phil, Dan wouldn't be where he is now, happy and in love.

Phil loved Dan, he thought his boyfriend was the most perfect person ever, and he's so proud of Dan for making it as much as he's proud of himself. They just starred at each other for a moment completely in love, with the most adoring looks in thier eyes, before Phil leaned in and kissed Dan. The kiss lasted for a few seconds before they arrived at thier destination.
Dan got out of the car, followed by Phil and gasped at the view before him. There were stunning rose gardens, and a beautiful lake with couples paddling around in boats strewn across it. Phil grabbed his hand and pulled him to the dock, walking right up to a boat and turned to the man next to it, "Hello,  I'm here for the Lester reservation." Dan looked shocked as he didn't expect Phil to have reservations let alone have planned this whole thing. Phil just smiled at his dumbfounded expression. The man checked his clipboard and spoke up, "Ah, yes, Mr. Lester, right this way." Phil continued to pull Dan while they followed the man to thier reserved boat. "Thanks Phil, you truly are perfect." Phil couldn't help but blush, "It's no problem, I really wanted to do something special for you, I love you." Dan smiled, "I love you more than anything, Phil."

They started to paddle the boat to the middle of the lake, the sun setting in the horizon. Once they got to a good spot, Dan leaned back against Phil's chest and snuggled into him. They watched the sun set together, the sky tuning beautiful shades of blue and purple. "I can't believe I have such a perfect boyfriend," Dan mumbled and kissed Phil's cheek. "I can't believe it either," Phil whispered playfully. Dan lightly punched him and giggled. Phil was beaming, he knew just how to end this night perfectly.

......
The taxi pulled up outside a restaurant, both Dan and Phil got out together and rushed inside, the absence of the sun's rays, making it quite chilly outside. Again, Dan was a bit surprised that Phil had planned this whole thing, but less surprised than he was at the dock. Once they were seated, normal chatter erupted between the two and they talked about anything and everything. This is what Dan loved about Phil, that they could just talk about whatever and it would never get boring, and the same goes for Phil. Everyone around them could see that they were so in love, the looks Dan gave Phil, the way Phil constantly giggled at Dan's remarks. It didn't take a genius to know that what they had was real, which is why when the waiter passed by the couple and told Phil the time was 12am, he got up, took Dan's hand and quietly asked, "Daniel James Howell, the love of my life, will you please marry me and make me the happiest nerd on this planet?"

Dan was tearing up, happiness overtaking him as he pulled Phil to a standing position and kissed him firmly on the lips, hugging him as tight as he could. The commotion brought attention to the newly engaged couple and a slow clap erupted from the rest of the restaurant. When all was settled down and they were on the ride home, Dan cuddled into Phil's shoulder, and Phil said, "The reason I waited till 12 was because I didn't want our anniversary on the same day as your birthday, I wanted an extra holiday." Dan just chuckled kissing his finance once again.

They lived a happy life, with white picket fences, a dog, and a small koi pond in the yard.
