"Selfish and Overcomplicated" is humanity's natural state. I don't think any of us, as children, had one single personality. We constantly contradicted ourselves, and thought in a more diverse way than we do now. But as we grow, we try to unify into one personality, without contradictions, to go along with our one body. And so, in the end,  everyone is tied down by there own bodies. Don't you find that terribly restrictive.
