Chapter Five

The hallways were filled with other kids either looking for friends or attempting to find a hiding place.

I went from classroom to classroom looking for survivors to salvage. I was almost done with the first floor when I ran into Sereena and her friends, Meliny DeJesus, Luke Briar, and Mack Lane.

"Oh my god, Sereena!" I said handing her masks for her and her friends, "Here wear these. Whatever this is its airborne."

"Thanks Skylar. Meliny, Luke, Mack, this is Skylar."

"Nice to meet you," Luke, who was holding Mack's hand, said as he put his mask on himself, handing one to his boyfriend. Luke had sandy brown hair, green eyes, and grease on his face and hands, suggesting he was into mechanics. His boyfriend, Mack, had blood red hair, most likely dyed, and entrancing brown eyes. They were the most adorable couple.

"Yeah. For real." Meliny, a sporty type with a blonde ponytail and blue eyes said before placing her own mask over her mouth.

"Nice to meet you guys too. I've got one more mask. Let's find someone else to save. And can I just say you two," I pointed between Mack and Luke, "are just the cutest couple."

"Oh," Mack said, resting his head on Luke's shoulder, "thank you."

"Ok let's head out."
