The man drags me way from the square and leads me to a small house. He unlocks the door, opens it and motions for me to go in. I walk in nervously and see a few pictures. One of a man who appears to be the stranger's father, that picture has a medal around it, another picture with a lovely looking girl with smooth brown hair that's in a braid down the side and finally, a picture of a smaller girl with simulr features as the last... The picture frame's glass is broken in the last one, as if the picture is painful for this stranger to look at.

"What do you mean you're not from Panam?" He breaks the silence. "I came from an Island not terribly far from the shore of this district. It's doubtful you know her, but the last person to emerge from that island was one of my ancestors... Her name is Mags Odair." He looks at the wall as if he's solving a puzzle in his mind. "Finnick's adopted mother." He whispers under his breath. "What's your name?" I ask him randomly. "Gale Hawthorne. I knew Mags she was a part of the making of the second rebellion." He replies. "Second? There was another rebellion?" I ask confusedly. "Yeah, this time, the disctricts won." He explains. "Oh. I've missed out on a lot. So is that what everyone in your neighbourhood is celebrating?" I ask. "Yes, actually, this time every year, we celebrate the new life by giving each other gifts to show peace." He tells me. "That's beauiful." I say. "Well I can give you the gift of somewhere to stay. You must be freezing in just that small sweater." He worries aloud and steps closer to me. He puts his right hand on my left shoulder and his left hand on my right shoulder. Butterflies run through me and we look into each other's eyes. Never knew it was possible, but we both could tell it was love. He pulls me into a hug to warm me up since I shivered. "Thank you." I say. "Welcome to Panam, Malorie and Merry Newdays." He tells me after letting go of our hug. "Newdays?" I ask. "It's what we call our celebration this time of year. It reminds us of the fact that we are free from dictatorship." Gale explains. "Well Merry Newdays to you too, Gale." I say then smile at him.
