She pressed the button for the nineteenth floor on the lift panel. Her heart was racing. Ready or not, what else could she do? Her shaking hands were inside her coat's pockets protecting her only hope, two packages of half kilo cocaine each. In the few minutes she took to reach the top floor, she remembered all the chain of events that turned the luckiest day of her life into her worst nightmare.

Earlier on that day, two impossible things happened: she sold her small flat that was on the market for over two years without rendering a single reasonable offer and won a legal action against an investment fund that made her lose some money years ago. Together both events granted her a massive sum of money: half million dollars. She could finally change her life, move out from that town, make her dreams come true. That was definitely her lucky day.

Although she was not into gambling, the local casino had the best bar in town, and her achievements requested a decent celebration. She barely sat at the bar when an old crush of hers bumped into her.

"Hey, Julie! I can't believe it's you! Where have you been hiding? It's been what, two, three years?"

"Killian! Wow! Indeed, it's been a long time. You look great!"

"You look amazing yourself! Come here!" He said giving her a tight hug. "I didn't know you liked casinos. I've never seen you around here before."

"Actually, I don't. However, here they serve the best margaritas I ever tasted and today is a lucky day for me. Time to celebrate!"

"Would you mind if I join you then? I guess we have a lot to catch up on. Maybe you can share a bit of your luck with me."

She replied with a smile and, a couple of margaritas later, he was kissing her. She liked his taste in her mouth and was already shivering inside her halter neck dress with the touch of his hands on the bare skin of her back. The alcohol made her a little tipsy, and the side effect of that included sexual arousal. The perfect end of this night would be in bed, she thought. Instead, he invited her to be at his blackjack table to bring him luck.

He won a considerable sum in the first few hands he played with Julie by his side. All seemed perfect until some police officer came and politely asked him to follow them. Julie looked at Killian puzzled; his face showed no concern, just pure annoyance. He hugged her for one last time and whispered something in her ear before leaving the table in the company of those men.

When she was about to leave the table, she heard him say:

"Don't waste your luck, Julie! Win for me. Break the bank!"

She noticed the dealer look up to the camera on the ceiling. The eye in the sky, she thought. She was not sure whether she became dauntless because of the drinks or the endless flow of money coming into her hands. Either way, that feeling was addictive. Her bets were getting higher, and she suddenly felt she could win it all. Break the bank!, she heard Killian's voice in her head. She bet a bit of her own money, half of it, and then a bit more, all of it, her entire life savings, but what could go wrong, that was her lucky day, right? And then, she lost everything. She noticed the dealer smiling to the camera before he invited her to leave the table.

He felt her eyes burn with tears of despair and rage were ready to fall down her face. That couldn't be happening. One minute she was a millionaire, the next she was broke. That couldn't be true.

Before leaving the casino and looking for a bench on the central square to spend the night, she took her coat and headed to the lady's room. As she placed her hands into her coat's pockets, she felt two packages that weren't there before. She shuddered as she checked their contents in the safety of a toilet's cabin, protected from the casino's prying eyes. The transparent packages revealing the white contends let no doubts: cocaine.

Suddenly all made sense. Killian passionate embraces and kisses allowed him to slid those packages into her coat without her noticing it. Her first thought was of revolt: that damn bastard, used me!, but then she remembered his whisper: Take it to the Hotel Casino, top floor.

The lift door opened granting access to a long corridor leading to the presidential suite. Two large armed men guarded the double doors. Although she felt like a little girl on the first day of school on the inside, on the outside, she wore a sexy girl mask, something she learned from her old theatre classes, back in high school times.

Her strides were firm towards the door; her look steady on the two bodyguards. Whoever hid behind that door was her only chance to bring her life back. She could still sell that drug for a good money and maybe convince Killian to get her into the business once and for all. When she reached the door, the men didn't ask her a thing. They solely searched her. Oddly enough, she liked the brief, accurate touch of their hands around her waist, up on her tights, and from her arms to her breasts. She couldn't conceal a soft moan and even winked at one of the guys who stared at her with a look of surprise. Something changed inside her.

Once they were done, they blindfolded her and led her through the large double doors. She stepped into a spacious living room carefully decorated in a luxurious style of shades of green and gold. Another set of doors led to a bedroom following the same fancy style. On a king size bed at the back end of the room, a man was lying in the dark. He signaled his employees to leave.

Julie heard the doors close behind her. Alone in the dark, she felt someone slid both hands into her coat's pockets. Before she could think, she held them there, preventing them from getting her final bet.

"Wait! No! I'm here to negotiate." She said in a desperate attempt.

Her voice was silenced with a kiss. Strong hands explored her body, making her legs gave way. Vigorous arms caught her and gently led her to the bed. It was useless to resist that touch, that taste. Killian undressed her slowly savoring each part of her exposed body. The blindfold was the last piece of cloth she had on, and he was on top of her when he finally removed it. Looking deep into her eyes, he slid into her, his passion growing inside her until it exploded in complete ecstasy. He took her to the cloud nine countless times that night.

The room was crowded with bags full of money and drugs. There couldn't be a worse scenario for Julie. However, she knew she couldn't be elsewhere. They were now partners in crime, and no one could ever change that.
