"Mommy! Daddy hit me!" I Cried, tears falling from my eyes like waterfalls. I knelt on the floor holding the side of my face, he had punched me. He did this to me all the time, he would try to get his hands on Layla but I would defend her, she was seven years old. "Mommy, what's going on? Why is Jacey crying?" Layla stumbled in dragging a eevee plushie behind her.
"Oh, it's nothing dear! Just go play outside." Mom shooed Layla into the garden and closed door before running over to me. She tugged my hand away from my face revealing my black left eye, she began to cover her mouth and nose and blink rapidly, she was going to cry. I hated watching Mom cry, especially when it was my fault. I rubbed my eyes hard and held back my tears, even if it did hurt. "No Mommy! Don't cry! See I'm fine!" I said, still in pain. She pulled me into her arms and began crying into my shoulder,
"How are you so strong?" she pulled away from me resting her hands on my shoulders gently. Tears gushed from her sad blue eyes, "You are so strong! You protect your sister from your father, get attacked, yet you still continue to try to protect us. My little Jace is the strongest boy I have ever seen, I just wish I didn't have to see you get hurt like this. You know I love you right, I love you and your sister both," now we were both crying. We hugged each other tightly, you see, we couldn't leave daddy, he knew to many people and he would hurt us more than he did already.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING? CRYING? You little piece of... Y'know what let's just get the fun part! Bend over you pathetic boy," I obeyed him. Bending over infront of him as he ripped my shirt of and removed his belt. He pulled his hand back and struck me with his belt, "GIOVANNI! STOP! HOW DARE YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO HARM MY BOY!" My mother screamed at the top of her lungs.
"You! I've got something for you upstairs, come with me," Daddy spoke calmly as he grabbed Mommy's arm and dragged her out of the room. I knelt down on the kitchen and cried into my ripped shirt. Grandpapa Black gave me that shirt, Daddy killed Grandpapa. That's when I decided, that night, I was going to run away with Layla and find a new family, to make Mommy happy.
That Night...
I clambered out of bed and tiptoed over to my sister. "Layla, Wake up. Wake up please," I shook my sister till she woke up. She rubbed her eyes wearily, "C'mon Layla let's go," I dragged her out of the house and ran with her into the woods holding my Volcarona torch in my free hand. "Jacey, I'm scared," Layla whispered. I didn't answer...
Suddenly there was a loud crack, Layla screamed and ran away. "Layla! Come back!" I heard a rustling coming from the bushes around me. "H-hello is anyone there?" I stuttered, looking around me into the darkness of the forest. A Vulpix leapt out of the bushes and raced towards me, "Vul-vulpix," The vulpix looked terrified. I knelt down and put my hands out towards the terrified pokemon, "Don't be afraid! I'm alone too, come here we can stay together. Then neither of us will be alone!" The Vulpix whimpered as it walked towards me. It sniffed me. I looked at it kindly; the Vulpix leapt up into my arms and I hugged it. "Come on let's go find somewher to rest..." I carried the vulpix off into a nearby cave where I lit a fire. I cuddled with the Vulpix until we both fell asleep...
My eye's opened slowly as I woke to see Vulpix run out of the cave. "Where are you going?" I leapt up and began running after the Vulpix. After a few minute of running, I found myself in a wide open clearing, in the center of it was a large white pokemon with it's wings spread out. You're Vulpix lead you here for a reason... A voice echoed around my head as I began to walk towards the Pokémon, "Who are you?" I shouted, trying to find the voice. I notified this Vulpix to bring you here prior to your awakening. She is a very well behaved one , you know... "Who are you?" I repeated. I stopped behind the Pokémon giving it some space, Oh dear boy! You just don't get it, do you! I shan't tell you whom I may be called. Until you know who you are... "I-I," I hesitated for a moment before continuing to speak, "I'm Jace Rioux," My voice trembled as the Pokémon turned around, it chuckled. You're Just Jace Rioux? Are you sure? Or are you something different? "I'm Jace Rioux! I am 7 years old and the son of Vidya Rioux and Giovanni Rioux!" The creature gasped as I spoke. D-did you just say, G-Giov-vanni? I nodded gently at the Ginormous Pokémon, Oh, Poor, Poor boy... I shall help you find her and take her home if that is what you desire... With a father like your own... I fear the worst for your sister. We must leave now if we wish to get to her before anything goes wrong! The creature bent down and I climbed onto it's back to find Vulpix curled up in the Pokémon's fur.
We began to fly up to get a good view of the forest, I looked around until I pointed down at a cliff. I spotted Layla running towards a cliffs edge, "Hurry! Down there!" I shouted jabbing the air as we went. The white pokemon began heading straight for the cliff, Layla leapt off of the cliffs edge, "Hurry!" I screamed even louder than before as the Pokémon began soaring even faster below the cliffs edge. At this point we were about level with Layla, "Catch her!" I shouted as the pokemon flew underneath Layla catching her on it's soft back. "Jacey!" There were tears streaming down Layla's cheeks. I wiped away her tears with my thumb and tugged her into a strong hug, "I was so worried that I had lost you," I whispered. The rest of the ride home I told Layla all about Vulpix and how I found her...
When we arrived home I saw flashing lights and sirens, Police? Why? Reshiram dropped us off behind our house, I carried Layla around to the front of the house. "Get away from here and NEVER come back again! Everything we had , no matter how little of it there was, is now gone! Just GET HIM AWAY FROM MY HOUSE!" I saw my mom shouting at dad who was being dragged into a police car.
"What's going on mommy?" Mom spun around and ran to us pulling us into a tight hug.
"I'm so glad you are okay! I thought I had lost you! You won't ever have to run away again! Giovanni is going to prison for three years, he wont be able to bother us again!" We all hugged each other, for the first time in our lives we were actually happy to be home. "Now let's go inside I'll go make you some cakes," She paused as she spotted the Vulpix sitting beside me," Your friend can come inside too!" Mom, Layla and Vulpix all hurried inside. I stopped as I saw the big white Pokémon hover above the house, This is farewell, Jace... The voice echoed inside my head once again, " No! Please don't go! Why can't you stay a little while longer! I didn't even get your name!" I shouted at the Pokémon. It began to fly higher, I, my friend, am Reshiram. Do not fear! You have taught me a lot! This shall not be our final meeting this will be our first of many meetings. But for now, I would like to leave you with a goodbye and my deepest loyalty and friendship. I watched the pokemon ascend into the sky until I could no longer see it. At that I smiled and went inside, never to be disturbed by my father again... Or so I thought...
