"You're ridiculous!" Jasper slapped us. "Fusion is just a cheap task to meals weak gems stronger!"
We didn't know what to say. This wasn't the first time Jasper has accused us for being weak because we were fused all the time. I sighed and looked at her. "We're fused because we love each other!" Moonstone snapped, but Emerald had made her say it.
Jasper gave us an evil look, then pushed us to the ground. "Listen Moonstone! Or should I say, Emerald and Zircon... love is just a waste of time! It distracts you from everything else! Love is a waste if your lives."
"But you've never been fused before," Moonstone said.
Jasper growled and punched us in the face. I screamed and grabbed Jasper's arm. No one punches us, especially Emerald, and gets away with it. I swung Jasper in the air and threw her at the wall.
"I'M SICK OF YOU TREATING ME LIKE CRAP! I was put on this ship because I know how to get to Earth! Pink Diamond has given us orders- has given me orders, my orders were to bring you to Earth to check on the war that's going on between those Crystal Gems and us! Now, you're going to respect me and don't you ever talk crap to me again- UNDERSTOOD?" Moonstone snapped.
Jasper quickly stood up, staring at me, she nodded, but then laughed. "You're so lucky that the rules have changed after that Ruby and Sapphire fused- otherwise you two would be nothing."
Moonstone opened the front gate of the ship and Jasper walked out, she turned to me. "Remember, you have to bring the Lapis Lazuli five miles away from the war. We can not lose her."
"I know what to do," moonstone said, and quickly closed the gate before Jasper could speak again. Moonstone made her way to the control room and flew the ship in the sky. Zircon, let's put the ship on auto pilot and let's go find the Lapis Lazuli. Moonstone put the ship on auto pilot and made her way around the ship. Oh Emerald, I wish we didn't have to keep her as a prisoner. Moonstone made her way to her cell. "She's gone," Moonstone said. I unlocked Lazuli's cell and she rushed out and hugged me.
"Thank you! Thank you so much!" Lazuli cried. "I hate how they keep me prisoner! I- I might snap one day..."
"It's ok, Lapis," Moonstone said. "C'mon, let's take a walk. You've been stuck in there for days," we walked around the ship.
"Thanks again," Lapis said after a little while of chatting.
"You're welcome. So- tell me. Emerald or Zircon really understand why you're being locked up. I looked up your data and you've never committed a crime or anything," I said.
Lazuli sighed and looked at her feet and stopped walking, so did I. "The diamond- they're afraid of me. They think I have too much power to be free. So they lock me up in a cell that doesn't allow me to use my powers."
"Oh..." we didn't know what to say. "Well- let's forget about you being a prisoner for now! What's your weapon?"
Lapis laughed and two wings made of water popped from her back.
"Wow! You have wings too!?" Emerald cried.
"Can you fly?" Lazuli asked.
The next four hours, we were flying all out the ship. Thanks to Emerald's weapon, wings, we were able to fly.
We flew out of the ship and onto the roof.
"It's beautiful out here," Lazuli said. "I wish I could see it through my cell."
Moonstone sighed and scanned the sky. "Why do you think will win this war?"
Lapis sighed and looked at her feet again. "Honestly- I think the Crystal Gems will. The Crystal Gems want this place more than we do. They want to save this world- but what will they do when they win? Stay here? They surly can't come back with us, we'll kill them."
"That's true," Moonstone said. "I don't really want this place, there's so many more planets, why can't we take one that doesn't have life yet?"
Lapis shrugged. "So- what's it like? Being a fusion? Do you feel like one gem- two gems? What is it like when you have to make a choice?"
"Well, sometimes, I feel like one gem. And sometimes I feel like two. I can always feel the love between Emerald and Zircon- but- sometimes I wish I was my own gem. But then again, I know I'll never feel the awful feeling of being alone," Moonstone said. "What is it like not being a fusion?"
Lapis looked at my eyes. "Well, I can make my own choices. When I'm in my cell I always feel alone, that's when I wish I was fused with a gem or a fusion. Before I could control water, I studied fusions."
"Oh really?" Moonstone asked. "Tell me some facts."
"Well-"
CRASH
BOOM
We both sat up. I grabbed Lapis and we quickly went back into the ship. "My orders from pink diamond was to bring you five miles away from the war- but even five miles away it's pretty rough. How about you do your mission in the ship?"
Lazuli sighed. "I can't disobey my diamond- she's afraid of me enough. Bring me outside," Lazuli said.
I sighed. "Ok- but please, be careful," I opened the front gate of the ship, and lead Lapis outside. "Be careful," I reminded her.
Lapis turned around. "Done worry- I will," lazuli walked forward. The vibration of the bombs shook the ship. "Lapis! I need to get off ground! When you're done just come back here!" I called.
Lapis nodded and rushed off. Her mission was to huge use her water power to drown the Crystal Gems, and immediately come back to home world. I closed the gate and flew in the air.
I sighed and sat down in a chair in the control room. Everything was quiet, too quiet. Not the war, but instead my ship. It was very quiet. Was it because Jasper wasn't in here? Emerald?
Yes Zircon?
We should-
Join the Crystal Gems!? I know what you're thinking! We're fused!
I know! But- we need to unfuse!
Shut up Zircon! What? You just wanna ditch me and join the war!? We all know that we're gonna lose but that's doesn't mean we're going to ditch our home!
Moonstone stopped, no, I did. We did. Moonstone realized she was saying everything aloud.
"Let's just- unfuse for a second," Zircon said.
They unfused and looked into each other's eyes. "We unfused- so talk to me?" Emerald crossed her arms.
"Babe- I love you- and you know that. We make a great fusion. Moonstone is something I would have never guessed to be so wonderful," Zircon said. "But, if we want to survive- we have to join the Crystal Gems."
"You're crazy!" Emerald cried. "I'm loyal to our diamonds!"
"I know- but please, I'm sick of brining Jasper here and there, I'm sick of being made fun of on home world. But the Crystal Gems don't care about any of those things! Hell! There's a love fusion named Garnet fighting for the Crystal Gems. They believe in relationship fusions and every gem has their own freedom! The terrifying renegade Pearl! She's not a slave to Rose Quartz! And w all know how Rose is, she'll let us in with them," Zircon took Emerald's hand. "I'm not just doing this for myself- I'm doing it for us," Zircon kissed Emerald on the lips and hugged her.
Emerald sniffed. "I just- what will home world do? We have to wait until the war is over. If the Crystal Gems lose after we decide the join them- we'll die."
Zircon laughed. "Yellow Diamond has already ordered the warriors fighting the Crystal Gems to leave once Lazuli brings a huge wave to the war. I forgot..."
"What will we do? Even if the Crystal Gem do win?" Emerald asked.
"Then we'll beg to join the Crystal Gems!" Zircon said.
BOOM
CRASH
Something hit the side of he ship, sending it to crash on Earth.
"Emerald!" Zircon grabbed Emerald's hand.
"Zircon!" Emerald wrapped her arms around Zircon.
And they crashed.
