"I'm sorry Karma, I don't think there's a way we can make it work." Karma paused their game and dropped his controller onto his bed, turning to face his companion. "Whaddya mean? Of course we can! We'll find a way." Karma's words pierced Nagisa like a blade. His commitment in keeping their relationship going was strong. Nagisa's voice trembled slightly but he managed to get each word out in one piece. "Karma, rules are rules and how do you expect our parents would react if we keep it up and they found out?" Nagisa kept his eyes on the floor, purposefully avoiding his partner's determined gaze. "Mine should be fine with it, and your mom always wanted a girl so it would only make sense if her vision of a perfect daughter would be into guys." As sharp as ever, aren't you Karma? Nagisa had to admit, Karma's reasoning was making sense and giving him false hope that their secret bond wouldn't flop. "There is still the fact that I'm going to a single sex school for discipline and concentration. Something you are making me lack, and one of the rules in that school is to not be in a romantic link of sorts that will distract one from any form of learning."
"It's not like your gonna see me that often." He muttered, looking at the bed. "It's not just the physical contact, I get distracted when I think of you, we both do!"
"Then screw the rules, Nagisa! Your being too harsh on yourself. Right now your calling off everything, the relationship, all contact with each other in any way," Nagisa buried his chin into his chest, maybe he was causing too much harm on the relations they shared. The rules he had just laid down would cancel out even their friendship. "If we see each other, we'll remember everything we'd done together. We'll most definitely procrastinate from whatever we're doing whether it's an assignment or buying milk. We distract each other, Karma, and that's not good considering my grades for high school which is why I'm going to St. Levi's. It's supposed to increase my intelligence. You can't come though, it doesn't matter how lazy you seem, you'll always be smarter than me educationally." Nagisa raised his head and looked into Karma's Amber eyes. A short moment passed before they softened. "Then at least think about it. Consider Hamishi HS a possibility, your welcome to register anytime throughout the year." Nagisa noticed his boyfriend slightly wince at his own words, pain hidden behind a small smile and loving pupils. "This is hurting me just as much as it's hurting you." the small boy mumbled. "Then that makes you a good actor." Karma replied, slowly reaching out and pulling Nagisa into a gentle hug. Unknowingly, Nagisa squeezed the breath out of Karma as he wrapped his arms around his waist, tightly. A light kiss was planted on the blue-haired teenager's temples as his fingers were slowly pried away from Karma's torso. "Careful with that grip Nagisa, could crack a few ribs with that." he chuckled and looked over Nagisa's shoulder as he smiled and checked his phone from an incoming text. 'Nagisa darling, please come home now. We are meeting someone later this evening.'
"I'll walk you home. It'll be the last time we hang out in a while, anyway.""Well seya, I guess." Karma managed a weak grin. Nagisa nodded, smiling as he wiped away small tears starting to form in his eyes. "I'll see you around, Karma." Before he turned to leave, Karma raised out his hand. "Forget it. Nagisa, shake on it. Promise me you'll come to Hamishi when your grades lift." Nagisa hesitated, unsure if his grades could get better. But then again, they couldn't really get worse for his age. He closed his hand around Karma's, sealing the deal. Nagisa couldn't think anything could be sadder today. But Karma turned and walked away, not once looking back. Nagisa wished for one last peck on the forehead but new that would just make the afternoon harder to live.
The sun was dying, pulling itself to hide behind the hills. Karma sat on the double swing set, gently pushing himself yet keeping his feet on the ground. He looked up at the remaining children and parents who scattered the park. He brought out his PS3 and zoned out of reality.
What made Karma jump, was the vibration of his phone. As he pulled it out of his pocket, Karma noticed it was darker now. Twilight, the sun had nearly disappeared on the horizon. 'I am aware of your situation son. Come home and we can talk about it.' Situation? What does that mean? Does he know? What's he gonna do to me?
'Don't want to..' Karma was afraid of what could happen. He'd never feared his father before but movies tell him fathers don't go well with gay sons.
'If not me, then let your mother comfort you. Unwanted break-ups are hard to deal with.' Karma hesitated. He did know. For how long? He's fine with this? Karma remembered how he told Nagisa his parents would be fine with their choice to be with each other. That was just to shut him up. I guess it doesn't matter anymore. There was a slight aching feeling behind Karma's eyes, his vision was starting to blur. Blinking the small tears away, Karma made his way home, stopping off at the comic store to get the latest issue of Sonic Ninja.Did anyone get the possible Attack on Titan reference? I didn't until I finished writing this. <(•√•)>
