Prologues Suck

I totally hate prologues.

I never know if I'm supposed to read them or not. Sometimes I skip them and go straight to the story and then I start getting really confused.

So I'll just say you don't need to read this prologue. If you just wanna speed ahead to the story of my hardest mission yet, go ahead. I won't judge you. But if you want to know a little bit about me, then stick around for a minute.

My name is Kaira Storm. I'm sixteen years old. And I'm one of the deadliest spies in the entire world.

It sounds like I'm bragging but really it's just a fact. I had no choice. The moment my parents died a few days after my fifth birthday, and my master spy uncle took me in, my destiny was sealed and any chance of a normal life was destroyed.

Uncle Adam trained me for ten years, right up to his own death, in the deadly arts. I was throwing ninja stars while other kids were stacking building blocks. When kids were still struggling with their nine times tables, I was reading Russian literature at a tenth grade level, ordering Chinese food in flawless Cantonese, and writing computer code in Arabic.

I've got a black belt in taekwondo, a red belt in judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and 10,000 hours of experience in boxing, muay thai, and krav maga. I know my way around a combination lock, am adept at high-speed chases in cars, planes, and on snowboards, and also know how to make a wickedly delicious Korean-style BBQ pizza.

You might think it sounds like I got this whole "life" thing figured out. But there's one thing I still can't figure out. Boys. Maybe I'll be able to crack that code one day... For now, I'm just happy saving the world.

Now let me tell you about my craziest mission yet. Just when I wanted to leave the spy world behind and have a normal life, it seems I'm sucked straight back in. Once a spy, always a spy I guess.

This book takes place over twenty-four hours. Hold your breath. We're going in...

SOUNDTRACK NOTE:

I'm a sucker for great music. There's no way I could tell the story of my craziest mission without putting some accompanying music to go with each part. And, seeing as I speak a few different languages, you'll probably hear a few songs that make you screw up your face and go "WTF?". That's okay. I know my taste isn't for everyone. But if you like the song, let me know and we'll be best friends for life. Also let me know if you have any music suggestions of your own. I love hearing new stuff.

Enjoy the (super true but super unbelievable) story.
