Riley's POV
I sighed as I walked in Studio A. Alfie had asked me out on a date at the qualifier for Regionals and I said yes. I was scared to death. Why? Because my feelings for James might not be completely gone? I mean, he danced with Alfie at the qualifier. He danced with his biggest enemy. Why did he do it? He did it for me. It just proved that he loves me, but I couldn't keep on hurting him. James deserves the best and I love him but I have feelings for Alfie as well.
Another thing I was scared of.. Well, I'm the studio head and Alfie is a dancer. Wouldn't it be extremely weird? Not to mention all the drama it would cause. Piper would probably hate Alfie forever. I'm pretty sure Michelle would never speak to him again. She's my best friend but she's also James' best friend. And then there's people like Amanda or Noah.. They're James' close friends as well. And I don't know how Emily would react to me and Alfie. He's not exactly her favorite person in the world. Oh, did I forget to mention Emily began calling James her brother?
Me and Alfie together.. It would ruin everything. My relationships, my friendships, my job. But the least I could do is try. Alfie said that he loves me. I know I don't love him, but I like him. I'll never know what could've been, if I don't try. So I decided to try.
For our date, I was wearing a simple black dress and my hair was straight as usual. I saw Sloane standing near my office. She was wearing a weird outfit. It looked like a waitress outfit.
"Hey Sloane." I smiled lightly approaching her.
"Hey Riley." she grinned when she noticed me.
"So.. What are you doing here? It's really late. And may I ask, what are you wearing?" I asked.
"Well, Alfie asked me to help him out a little bit. Come with me." Sloane said taking my hand and leading me to Studio A.
It was only then I noticed that Studio A was beautifully decorated. It was absolutely amazing. And there was Alfie, standing on the dance floor. He was wearing a tux and he was holding flowers in his hand. He grinned when he saw me coming.
I greeted him awkwardly. "Hi."
"Hey!" he exclaimed. Wow. He's acting like this is the best day of his life.
"Have a seat." he said, being a gentleman.
"Oh, well, thank you." I smiled. I looked at the food. "This looks delicious."
He just smiled sitting in his chair, across from me.
"I'm really glad you're here, Riley." he said, beaming.
"Uh, yeah.." I started quickly, not knowing what to say. "Me too."
We started eating with him glancing at me from time to time. This was more awkward than I thought it would be. Suddenly Sloane walked in, holding a phone.
