Philip shifted through his dresser. He was going back to see that girl again. He had just met her but he didn't care, he wanted to see her again. Instead of being in his grimy work clothes, he wanted to impress her which wouldn't be hard, he was a prince after all. He looked himself over in the mirror. His brown hair greased back like a slick wave. His tight dim gray shirt, with long slender black sleeves, over black tights. As he looked himself over he wondered if she was getting herself ready as well. This time he would be seeing her not in the fields but at her house, further beyond the fields, next to the river. He knew of the river, he would go there often as a teenager. He's never seen the house but she told him it was the only one out there, so he was sure to find it.
The door slid open, the sound of metal on metal, filled the room.
"Oh Philip! I have great news!"
Philip could see his father, the king, in the mirror behind him. He wore his orange robe, embroidered with blue and red trim.
"As do I father!" Philip said spinning to face him. "I met a girl."
"Oh yes a girl- a girl?" His father's cheer faded as he watched philip dance around him. "What do you mean a girl?"
"A girl. What other meaning is there? I met her in the steam fields."
"The steam fields?" he frowned and shook his head. "A steamer." his father shifted his hands behind him. "Philip you're betrothed you will be meeting your wife today."
"Oh but father," philip said spinning his way around him. "I don't know this girl."
"Look at you talking about who you don't know. How many times have you met the steam girl? Once?"
"Oh no." Philip insisted. "I've met her plenty of times. In a dream."
" you sound like a madman!"
"I have to go now. Tell this princess i am sorry." philip winked at his father as he rushed to the open window, standing on the windowsill.
His father reached to stop him but philip had already jumped. He was on a large air-ship.
"let us go samson."
The ship replied by creating loud pops and scraps, us huge amounts of smoke flew to the air.
"Philip!" his father called but it was too late, he was gone. He placed his large hand on his head. "Oh my sons gone mad!"

Briar broke through the door.
"Flora! Funna! Merryweather!"
"Surprise!" the three fairies jumped into her view.
"Oh you guys shouldn't have!"
Briar set down her basket which carried different screwdrivers and screws.
"Happy birthday rose!"
The smiling young briar danced between them.
One named flora took the hand of briar as she danced, she was dressed with a yellow long sleeved shirt and a sleeveless red coat. With a tight red skirt and yellow apron. She had large gray curls, with black eyes. The second named funna danced along with them, she wore a light green long sleeve shirt with a dark green corset with golden trim.she had on black puffer pants and green tights, her gray hair pulled into a large bun, hidden by a green hat. The third fairy who was a little heavier than the first two, named merryweather clapped her hands, giving them a light beat to dance to. She had on a long sleeve blue shirt and a large black corset, which held a tool belt that featured various tools. Her black hair was neatly covered by a blue cap.
"Alright girls calm down." flora said letting go of briars hand. "He have a surprise for you."
Briar tilted her head.
"Oh! I just can't wait anymore!" merryweather shouted. "You're going to get married!"
Briars face turned grim. "Married? What do you mean?"
"Oh yes dear married!"
They began to tell her the story of how shes a princess, and how she was betrothed to a handsome prince. They told her about the god who hated her and her family so much that they put a curse on her, that she would be pricked by a spinning wheel and die, they told how merryweather was able to calm the curse but she couldn't make it go away, if she were to be pricked by a spinning wheel then she would fall into a deep sleep only to be awaken by true love's kiss.
Heartbroken briar told the faires about the young steamer she had met, and how she wanted to meet him again not this prince, and how he was coming to see her tonight. The three fairies disapproved, they made briar change from her raggy steam clothes to an elegant victorian dress- fit for a princess. They led briar through the forest and through the steam fields, and into a large village, to a giant castle. Once they entered they were greeted by the king and queen. After sometime briar was given a room to herself, to get herself ready for her wedding. Briar only cried upon her bed, until the slight tapping from the fireplace was heard. When she looked up the fireplace was gone entirely with a long dark tunnel in its place. Curious she picked herself up off her bed and walked closer to the tunnel. As she got closer a small green light appeared and took off down the tunnel. She followed her palms sweating with what was going on. She followed until the light disappeared and a small spindle took its place. Her hand reached to touch the tip, she didn't want to but she couldn't help it. Something was making her. She screamed inside her head to just go back to her room but nothing changed. She was still getting closer until a small pain poked her. She looked at the small pool of blood rising on the tip of her finger, and everything went black.

Philip lowered the ship next to the small house by the river. He hopped out of the base of the ship, leaving it hovering in midair. He lifted his hand confidently, only to stop before it touched the door. He shuffled his feet, and wiped his hands on his coat. He looked at the cream colored door noticing every chip in paint and dent. He took in a deep breath.
"Prince philip?"
Philip looked behind him seeing the three good fairies. They bowed in respect. " what ever are you doing here?"
" i'm looking for the maiden who lives here."
The fairies gave each other a fascinated look.
They explained to him about how his bride was the girl he had met in the fields. They told him about her curse and how only true love's kiss could save her.
He nodded to them and hopped on his ship. " i'll get to her soon."
She said as the ship bubbled and popped lifting itself in the air. " come on samson we have a princess to save.
The ship began to speed off in the direction of the castle, as it flew over the large sea a giant creature reached out and grabbed ahold of the ship, pulling it slowly to the sea. Philip was thrown carelessly around the ship, slamming into every wall with great force. Philip held onto a large bar as the ship was turned to the side, and various items falling into the sea. He could see only the large tentacle of the monster that was attacking him, the gray tentacle led down to even more where philip could now see a hideous face smirking at him under a line of tentacles all racing up to see him. Philip panicked as the ship neared the water closer and closer, in a fast moment he lunged for the ledge he saw just outside, he safely landed and watched as the creature and his ship sink into the dark sea. Philip frowned, watching the murky water bubble until a large explosion happened beneath the water.
"Oh Samson.." he muttered.
"Philip! Oh Philip are you alright?"
Philip looked up, seeing merryweather on the ledge above him.
"Yes I'm fine." He answered allowing her to help him up. "We need to get to briar." Philip rushed past the three fairies and into the castle. Everyone had been asleep, the king, the queen, all the servants, everyone. He followed the long hallway to see briar's room. He saw her lay patiently on her bed fast asleep waiting to be awakened by Philip. He leaned over her and kissed her passionately. When he broke from the kiss her eyes fluttered. She smiled sweetly upon seeing him over her.
